Conestoga Recreation and Aquatic Center reviews
17 The current system in place to secure a spot to play for drop-in volleyball is extremely frustrating and needs to be updated immediately.
Here’s what it looks like now: I would have to show up between 6: 00-6: 30pm on the day of to make sure I am one of the first 32 people in line in order to claim a spot to play. The front desk doesn’t hand out tickets until 6: 45pm. Even if 32+ people are there already, they still won’t give tickets out until 6: 45pm. Starting around 7: 15pm is when the front desk starts asking people with tickets to pay for their spot. Then the doors to the courts don’t open until 7: 35pm.
I don’t understand why this system makes any sense. This is not some Black Friday deal where we need to camp out at the lobby and wait to claim one of the coveted spots. It’s a complete disrespect to people’s own time. It’s frustrating when I show up at 6: 15pm (exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes ahead of play time) just to be turned away because I didn’t make the cut. Also, the courts have always been unoccupied during the entire waiting process before play time starts. If this system is being allowed, might as well open the courts early and spare all the time to proper use.
So here’s my suggestion—implement an online registration system for drop-in volleyball. Have people pay at the time of registration to avoid any loss of revenue. Open registrations 12-24 hours ahead of time to ensure less risk of cancellations. Implement a no refund policy for last minute cancellations or no-shows, and put in place an effective waitlist system in the event of cancellation/no-show.
As a THPRD staff, ask yourself how this system could effect you as a customer to the services and systems currently in place. Make it make sense, make it worthwhile, make it profitable for everyone.
P. S. I am willing to collaborate on ideas should you consider taking this suggestion to mind.
One of the best public facilities I’ve ever been to all around. Every sport you can think of, great playground in the back, and tons of classes. Always clean and well kept.
My son's favorite swimming place ever, they have a water slide, can't get better!
The classrooms for rent are great. Some rooms include outside meeting areas with each reservation.
Conestoga is a good pool. But they are not the best as far as hours. Actually they have some pretty bad times for people to actually go swimming.
Very disappointed with the Conestoga Aquatic Pool. Marc Losonti Pop, the head guard is super unprofessional and untrained. He came and yelled at us without understanding the situation with a fellow patron and even made my youngest daughter cry. The other lifeguards were just laughing at us and talking behind our backs. We had to leave the pool after 10 minutes because my kids felt so uncomfortable because of him. It wasn't the first time Marc had it out for my family, but this time it went too far. We cant come back to the pool here now because my daughter has anxiety about swimming there due to the incident.
I called to speak to the pool supervisor, Emily Durand multiple times and basically had to chase them down before they got back to me more than a week later. They couldn't help me in any way other than telling me they would retrain their guards.
Great pool, friendly staff, and clean changing areas! Nothing could be better! Going to the pool was the perfect option considering the atrocious heat waves we've gone through. Conestoga was the closest to out house, which, quite frankly, is the best thing ever when we're frying eggs on the sidewalk here. Love that they have coed changing rooms; it's great when you don't identify as male or female like me. I will go as often as I can here!
My children got cut there! Somebody sat on the ropes while my daughter was going underneath it! I hurt! The water was good, but the place was not! The lifeguards were nice
Great family fun center. They offer scholarships to family when they show proof of income.
The experience made me feel nauseous. Our democracy is in big trouble if guys like Jeff Merkeley get re-elected. Better hold on tight to your wallet America if the Dems push their agenda through.
Great to be back in Conestoga'splay pool. I'm looking forward to the outside splash pad soon.
One of my favorite places to go for swimming, excercise, and a variety of available classes.
Cute little park and I like the fact that you can shut the gate so the little ones can't wander off
They basically use CCPVirus as an excuse to up their admission. Now each session is $22 for up to 6 people.but of course it will cost you the same for one person. I thought this kind of shxt only happen in China. I guess taxing payer supported facilities do the same!
They are doing a bang up job of addressing the Covid situation- reservations, distance between stations, well supervised. Really impressive. Facility was very clean, which is always a big plus, and the staff were very friendly.
Went to the recreation pool. It's only 3.6 feet deep but my daughter and I still had fun. The slide is pretty neat. The teenagers that work there were not very friendly. I guess $20 for 45 minutes is a good deal but it should be an hour.
This is located close to my home and they have fantastic water fitness classes! There will be a temporary closure this July for scheduled maintenance, but there are other aquatic facilities in the district that are accessible.
