Copperfield Campground reviews
15The host is nice, restroom is very clean. If you RV here or have family reunion, this is 5 star campground. However if you just tent here and hope to have a quiet night to sleep and recharge, then its not for you. The quiet time was not reinforced, people were still having party/game after 10pm.
We stopped over for a night on our road trip and were super happy with the campground. The grounds are huge, well manicured and right against the Snake River. We tent camped and our space was very roomy and nicely set up with a paved parking spot, concrete picnic table, and a metal fire ring. Would love to stay here again.
Right on the Snake River.
It is worth the trip to drive 23 miles downriver to the ranger station (which is also where the jet boats launch.)
Great place to camp. If you only want to relax or you can fish until your hearts content. It is always very clean and green.
Great campground. 2 negatives. #1.sprinklers for 3 hrs Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at dark. #2. Constant yard work in the afternoon kill the tranquility. BUT.without the two negatives there would be fewer positives. Bill is the man!
Nice campground with asphalt pads, electric and water hookups. No tents allowed on the grass because of the underground sprinkler system. Pleasant place and off the beaten path.
We had a nice time. The park is beautiful and well maintained. Weather was colder than usual. The scenery is so pretty and we always get to see Deer and other critters. Very nice campground.
Spring time was so nice. Quiet and not crowded. Snow still on the mountain peaks. What a fabulous time to be camping!
Nice park, a little tight for big rigs, but doable if you make sure the space you are renting accomodates your size rig, lots of green grass and trees, right beside the river. A nice place to spend a few days.
Super well-kept campground, all paved spots, no gravel - right on the Snake River. We liked it a lot, except for one evening out of three we stayed, the bugs were pretty bad. But it was great the rest of the time. There are many raft tours that start nearby after the Hells Canyon dam, but plenty of boating / fishing before the dam too.
Caveat #1: If you need WiFi or Cell service, you will be out of luck, it's pretty bad. We didn't need it so no biggie for us. But don't try "Work from home" or "remote school" there.
Caveat #2: there are no stores or gas stations for many miles around, so be sure to have a full tank before you get there, and a cooler with food. Fill up in the town of Halfway ~20 miles if you arrive from the West, or Cambridge ~20 miles if you arrive from the South. There is no North or East roads that go to this area, it's pretty remote.
Just happened upon this state campground. We actually stayed an extra night. Beautiful campground nice sites. Electric and water and a dump station was on the way out. Bathrooms were pretty decent too.
Very nice clean park priced right. Only draw backs are that it's an older park and spaces tend to be short. Was a challenge with a 32ft fifth wheel and many spots weren't long enough. Also no sewer hookup. Good dump station.
Copperfield is a beautiful little campground with power, water and a dump station. It has huge grassy lawns leading down to the river. Bring everything you need because stores are far away. We didn't fish but we saw others with fishing gear.
Too hot but friendly people! Maybe if Temps are lower it would be wonderful! Nice place to camp!
Enjoy coming to this campground every year with family. The fishing is great. It does get hot in the summer so be prepared to laze around doing nothing in the middle of the day.
