I debated for a long time whether to make this post or not.   Out of concern for your wellbeing, I am posting a warning for you.   Creekside has a long track record of emotional and spiritual abuse.   In the end of our 9 years there, we got to be on the receiving end of it and experience it first hand.   The gaslighting we experienced as we tried to walk through our concerns and seek resolution was unreal.   Good teaching does not justify all the harm and damage done.  I would recommend finding another church to be a part of.

UPDATE: Thank you for responding and for communicating that you love us. However, I will say that responding to my comments regarding emotional and spiritual abuse with “there is always an open door here for more conversations” reveals a serious lack of self-awareness, empathy, and responsibility. After dozens of “conversations” and meetings prior to our departure, we were no closer to reconciliation. In fact, we were further from it due to the gaslighting and bullying we experienced in those conversations. Though you pose as open to reconcile, it is typical for you to expect the victim (s) to initiate it. I will not be initiating any further conversations; however, the door is also open on my end if/when you recognize your culpability and have a desire to ask for forgiveness.

Creekside Community Church represents the worst of organized religion in this country. Their inability to meet basic human needs paired with a self-serving, single figure hierarchy has done more harm than good. The self-sacrificial teachings of Christ that have defined Protestant movements for centuries - teachings of humility, grace and community - ring hollow from the pulpit. Yes I'm speaking from personal experience, this place burned me and many of my friends and family. Tread lightly. You'll see a lot of responses from this church in the reviews about opening up dialogue with frustrated former members, and trust me, we tried that.

If you are looking for an institution that placates, panders, and pours into a narcissistic megalomaniac pastor, who is backed by (far too few) elders and deacons, look no further than Creekside Community Church.

This establishment serves only a very small concentration of power in leadership. That same leadership is hell bent on avoiding responsibility and culpability, but don’t worry they will try hard to make everyone in the congregation feel warm and fuzzy while they gaslight you and your family out of the pew and label you as “used by the devil” from the pulpit.

Creekside Community Church is apart of a non-denominational network of churches who’s other leaders provide the only accountability for disputes and conflicts. A bit of an incestuous frat house if you ask me.

All of these “men” in leadership seek only their own consolidation of power and influence over their congregations, or to be lucky enough to play the “yes man” role in the attempt to ride the coattails of their pastor’s power gained through a an expectance and practice of unethical/amoral religious/biblical misinterpretation.

Creekside Community Church is hardly a church, more like a cult.
Creekside Community Church is a community unto themselves, never seen helping, aiding, or engaging in the town of McMinnville.
Creekside Community Church is not even by a d*** creek.

Do yourself a favor, save a few years of pain and therapy and find a community that is actually governed by their altruistic convictions rather than their pastor’s own power trip.

Cheers.

I haven't been to church here but they are gracious enough to let me and my buddies holy Bible study at 6 PM on Thursdays for men and women that are just getting out of jail prison or are homeless etc. So we feel really blessed by them for doing this!

I don’t even want to give one star to this institution. Do yourself a favor and listen to “The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill”.
