Davis Family Farm reviews
17Great place to come and pick strawberries, they also have you pick blueberries during blueberry season (usually late June-August). They have beautifu hanging flower baskets in different price ranges, fruits and veggies during different seasons, and individual flowers/fruiting plants. The strawberries are delicious by the way!
Staff were friendly, but unfortunately there just wasn't much to do. Corn maze took under 10 min and you could see over a lot of the corn.
Lived in Albany for 38 years and this is the first time my wife and I and our 5 year old great granddaughter have been on the hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Really enjoyed. Not many pumpkins left, 2 days before Halloween. Guess that's a good thing.
Lots of potential but little planning leads to long lines of confused customers. 3 different lines exist so you will wait in the wrong one most likely. Signs could be larger and more instructive. Customers shouldn't wander looking for stuff to do. I fear they lose big money due to these little issues. Hay ride was great. Lots of potential.
Manipulative employer, failed to pay me my final check according to Oregon law and physically wrestled me to try and pry my hours out of my hand. Will resort to yelling and screaming and even physical violence if you catch onto the lying him and his wife do towards their employees because they can't spare them any truth, they fire people without giving them two weeks, don't pay final check in full up front, and then Russell Davis screams and acts childish until workers just leave because it isn't worth it for him. I literally got Neener-Neenered at after showing up for work, didn't even get a call to not show up.no direct deposit, only late mailed checks. Russell lies and hides behind his "business accountant" saying that he doesn't know how to do it himself when it's just his wife that does it. His second wife Betsy just claims ignorance and just goes along with him, it's a sad sight and I wish this business that people love was run by better, more honest people. I have confirmed while working Saturday markets for him that for the past five years, Russel Davis chews through college students and yells and screams so he doesn't have to deal with the cost of putting in a two weeks. He bought the place from someone else, don't hold out on him getting any better, please go support a better business
TLDR: Russel Davis takes advantage of college age adults and migrant workers, with the employer attitude of replaceable employees and the gas lighting that comes from two older isn't worth working here, you'll get better experience and more consistent pay in any retail you could easily find. It is fine for him until it suddenly isn't. Go work somewhere else
Got some gorgeous freestone peaches for canning. One of the owners was so nice to explain to me the difference between freestone and cling peaches, so not only did I get delicious fruit, I learned something while I was there!
We love Davis Family Farm!
Great fresh berries. The service is really polite and pleasant. This is the best place for quality and price to buy local fresh berries in the mid valley.
Super friendly staff however just very bare minimum amounts of items and a little on the expensive side
I have been going every week for berries and peaches that are delicious. Last week I got corn also. My husband said this was the best local corn we have had in a very long time and definitely this year! The ears were sweet and tender. I didn't realize that they had corn but will look forward to buying more!
We went strawberry picking here and loved it! We walked out to the field and it was quite far, we would definitely recommend driving out to the picking fields, but otherwise it was such a great experience.
Great selection of Christmas trees at very reasonable prices.
Thanks for the extra boughs for me to make a wreath!
We came here to get some pumpkins and grabbed a bunch of veggies and some cider too. It was really fun, more for kids than adults, but still pretty good. The cider was amazing! Went to the other farm down the road too~ it was super busy~ so we came here. Glad we did to avoid the crazy lines at other pumpkin patches. Thanks!
Davis Family Farms is an annual family tradition. Hay ride to the pumpkin patch, corn maze and apple cider donuts are a must. Very family friendly.
They say they’re open at 9a but they refuse to take you out to the pumpkin patch till 3pm. And they won’t let you walk out there. So if you’re looking to go out and pick out your pumpkin before 3pm don’t waste your time.
Less busy than the other U-picks around as long as you can take the heat. Their bushes are fairly young and short.
Always know I'm getting quality plants when stopping in here. My wife used to take her OSU Bates Hall pre-schoolers on their hay rides each fall. They still make great sugar donuts & you get a bag when you buy a plant.
