So I called around to a few local locksmith (about 4) and I got quotes between 45-49 bucks to rekey a brand new in box smartlock device. I called Davis and got a $20 quote. I went to the store and said I was quoted $20 over the phone to rekey my locks so I provided my 3 new in box and to rekey two of them for key alike. The much older gentlemen (sorry I didn't get your name) finished both in under 10min and said "here you go, and that'll be $15 per lock" and I'm like oh really? L then need to make 2 copies of the master key and for all 4 items it cost me $38! I've driven by Davis Lock & Safe for years but never really stopped by until I need my first key alike made and glad I stopped by. These guys knows their stuff, honest and fair. The locks that got rekeyed are for our new house and I will be needing safes and such so I will definitely be back!

p.s. I don't think I ever looked for any signs about prices for these services so my cost may differ from yours as I'm sure not all locks are equally the same so make sure to call first to get a quote.

I'm happy they refused to come do a small job that I am only incapable of doing because I lack the tools.because I found a price for $200 LESS!

Update: Thank you Davis Lock & Safe for your reply. The only reason I leave a review is so other people can save money by avoiding businesses that over charge their customers. Changing a steering lock assembly on my vehicle? Not worth $350.

I see from the reviews you have over charged others. Again everyone, a Kars employee began servicing my vehicle at my location within the hour. $150. Kars Locksmith is a company that wants to get the job done.

I have used Davis previously with excellent service. I have an old motor home that we had misplaced the keys. Doug came out within 30 min. With everything needed to replace the keys. Very professional, excellent service and good value. I will definitely use them for all my lock needs.

Got a price estimate for potentially drilling a single lock on a double stack gun cabinet. No drilling was done, sort of tweaked my key for a few seconds and double checked the locks were turning. Paid $240 for them to drive 4 miles down the road, be in my house for maybe 3 minutes of labor on site, tweak an original key that's now modified without a new pair and I don't have a second set. Won't be getting my business in the future.

I first had Davis lock change all the locks on my house and had a bunch of keys made up. Three months later one of the locks already failed. I believe that the lock wasn’t fixed proper fix the first time they came out. They told me there is only a 30 day warranty. I set up an appointment for them to come back and fix it. Also asked for a manager to call me back which never happened (terrible customer service if you ask me) So an employee came out to fix it which he struggled to figure out what the problem was. He said it should be good to go I tried it one time and it was still broken. This happened at least three times. I think they finally fixed it charged me $160 for something I truly believe they didn’t install properly in the first place. I also have a feeling this lock won’t last long. I probably should have given them a one star but I was feeling generous today.

Service tech was awesome! Same day service. Lost both 2006 F150 chipped truck keys. Ford dealers were not able to replace them. $240 later I had 2 working new keys, couldn't be happier. Good job Davis!

Fast, friendly. And the keys work great, which you would think is a given, but other places have made copies for me that were finicky in the lock.

They give you the best costumer service. Without an
appointment they helped me while I waited. Showed me the issue and fixed it.

I called Davis about getting a replacement key FOB for my car. They took down the make/model information and called me back a short while later with a quote for a FOB key and also a standard key for my car. They were polite, professional, and informative during both phone calls. I ended up going a different route but would gladly use Davis for any lock needs in the future.

They did a fine job on my key fob replacement, I was not aware of this being a final sale service. When I called asking about a return, after a brief hold he told me they don’t do that, then he scoffs and laughs when I let him know about providing this info for those that might not know the policy. Then rudely hangs up. It’s not personal it’s just constructive criticism

Someone tried to break into my truck overnight and completely destroyed the ignitions cylinder and switch. When I towed the car to the mechanic shop, I got a quote for $850 and they said it will take around 6 hours to do it. Then, I called Davis Lock & Safe and they took care of it in an hour matching my original key and it only cost $350. The staff is very experienced, friendly, & professional.

Davis Lock & safe has been there to give me back peace of mind more than once. They replaced the key fob and the locks on my car after it was recovered from being stolen, they replaced the locks on the cabinet in my office a couple of times, and have done other various keys for us over the years. The staff is always been very knowledgeable and kind. They do great work.

I can't say enough nice things about this company. I have used them for years in my personal life and my petsitting business. All the office staff are pleasant, engaging and very knowledgeable. Today (5/28/21) Sam came to my house to repair two bedroom door locks, an entry lock, and rekey locks to two French doors, all while dodging my petsitting clients with a smile on his face. He was very patient with this old lady needing to have him fix things exactly how I wanted them and explaining my options. I wouidn't use any other locksmith. You all rock!

Came in to have a new key made for my flip fob on my Tacoma, the guy that helped me was quick and pleasant enough and I was out the door with a new key in about 5mins.

Well that would be great if the key worked. It did not fit and would get stuck in the lock no matter how gentle I was. I took it back inside and explained the problem. The guy cut the key a little more and I was out to try it again. Still wouldn't fit.

I came in a third time and he made another fine adjustment. I took it outside and once again it would not fit. Upon taking the key inside for the fourth time the clerk came out with me to the truck and insisted that I just needed more leverage to break it in. He clamped the key with some vise grips and used the extra leverage to crank the key and force it to work in my lock.

Yeah it works now, but it is horribly sloppy and only works one way. I can tell this key will wear out my tumblers if I continue using it. Frankly I'm not willing to risk that on my brand new truck, so I am down to my one remaining factory OEM key, which works effortlessly no matter how you insert it.

I'll give em 2 stars because they tried to make it right, but wow I am disappointed considering this is a locksmith specialty shop. Using vise grips to force the lock to cover up shoddy work is NOT an acceptable solution.

I went in for a new lock that the key broke off inside. The boss was incredibly rude and not helpful. Ended up going to precision locksmith and got everything I needed for half the price. Our maintenance shop has done business with Davis for 20 years. I was very disappointed with how I was treated today. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Sadly, not recommended. These folk were called when a combination was forgotten. They merrily attached a very loud robot to the lock and proceeded to let it run for several days trying to "pick" the lock. It was a low end lock, and we later found out when we had COMPETENT locksmiths clean up the mess davis left.it would take under 15 minutes for the technician to "pick" (manipulate) the lock and open it. The job turned into an expensive one since davis robot had reduced the innards of the lock to dust - and that required drilling and use of bore scope to open, as well as a complete replacement lock. Hmm. Save your money, check my other reviews to find out who did it right.
And updated (#2) again! Sweet! They claim I'm a shill.hmm.they really are clueless as evidenced simply by this exchange. Nope, not a locksmith, just a customer who is helping others to make an informed choice. Is this how you keep a high average review rating - harassing people who post honest but critical reviews? Cool! Works?
UPDATED (#1) ON THE SAME DAY! Response from Davis: "Honest, Guv, it wuzn't us! " - hmm. I'll have to see if I have video of the debacle - I seem to recall filming this as well as taking pics when the "not clueless" guys opened it - dust inside the mechanism - only dust. I feel like Gomer Pyle, I wanna say "Gooooooly! " - what a motivation to find old records!

Wouldn’t pick a lock for a fire safe and wants to change $85 dollars to break it open. I’ve seen half a dozen videos on YouTube where the same brand was picked open in minutes.
