Dawson Park reviews
8A good place for barbecues from what I see driving by. But go with a group. It's not a friendly place at night.
I will not even drive within the vicinity of this park. The dealers and just ordinary criminals will swarm your car while waiting at the stop sign. Stay far from this park, and avoid N Williams and Stanton street.
Went to check out the fire safety programs for the high risk kids (the 6yr old age group) minority kids have a 3 to 1death rate as opposed to white kids and nobody from the fire dept even showed up
Half surrounded by a hospital, this park always gives me a somber feeling, even though there are nice amenities like a basketball court and a playground. I often passed it during my running, and just feel like it's not as fun as some other neighborhood parks.
The senior center put on a great event today and a band that they chose was spectacular ; had a lot of the seniors rocking and not on rocking chairs
This has got to be one of the coolest parks I have ever been to. Unfortunately when I went with my children a group of men were sitting near by cursing up a storm that we walked away after a bit.
Although this is a beautifully redone children's park with a whole new play area for little kids and a bball court for the bigger ones, I wouldn't recommend taking them there. This is an adult atmosphere and adult language and adult content that any parent shouldn't put their little ones in eyes view of. It really was a waste of the money and time that wàs put into renovating it for the kids.
Ran through there to Holla at a couple dudes, and shoot the breeze. Had a cool afternoon.
