Restaurant Dottys reviews
7 I have been to numerous Dotty's as I like to gamble a bit from time to time. Today, however changed my mind about them. I had just got done at a business next door and decided I could play some poker, or buy some scratchers. But before doing so I needed to use the restroom real quick.
I get to the back, and you need a key, and be a paying customer. No biggie, as I planned on being there for a little while. I go up to the front and wait a few minutes for the lady to get up out of her chair in the backroom. She seemed annoyed, that I interrupted her break or something.
I tell her I plan to buy some scratchers, since the machines were all busy, but needed to use the restroom first. Her response was for me to buy a ticket first, which I responded I didn't want to take a ticket into the bathroom with me, as it is kind of gross. Her response was it's just a piece of paper. I offered to leave my wallet, or ID and she said she couldn't be responsible for that. Even with all the cameras (yeah I know most probably don't work), she wouldn't even compromise.
Looking back, she could have offered so many options, but obviously her skillset is not in customer service, or she is used to bullying customers around.
I will spend my gambling money at their competitor from now on.
I have never been to a Dotty's. It is cash only. The signs say no plugged in devices. My overall impression is this is a lottery place with some food to go with it.
It is clean. The staff was very friendly. The food was the most affordable restaurant food I've had in a long time. It was quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed my experience.
After entering one of my local Dotty's. I was kept waiting for about 15 minutes while the woman working was in the back room having a rather loud and emotional personal call. I said " hello" somewhere in the middle not quite sure of why a personal phone call was more important than a customer. I was told to wait because she was doing something important. Having heard the conversation it was not very important. Unprofessional to say the very least. However when I was finally tended to I handed her a 20 and asked that my change be proper for the bus. It was handed back to me hesitantly and I paid more for the bus than necessary because she gave me all 5s.
The Lady with the dark hair was really friendly and even told people good luck at the games
