You walk in, and you’re treated like family or a long time regular even it it’s your first time. Great food, delicious coffee and impeccable service!

Best and most affordable breakfast in Multnomah Village. The juices are so good and the staff is super friendly, cozy vibes and great food all around. Tons of vegan and veggie options as well.

Ordered delivery, good food overall, would have been nice to get even 1 sugar/cream for our coffee: (also pro tip, monte cristo is better when included side of maple syrup and/or jam!

Fantastic local run café. My wife and I were visiting from UK and dropped in for lunch. I had delicious avocado toast with eggs, salad, French toast plus coffee and heath nut vegan smoothie. It was all great! The waitress was friendly and helpful. The owners were welcoming and very accommodating – they kept kitchen open long enough for us to get our late orders in. The prices were very reasonable. Perfect place for relaxed breakfast or lunch. We’ll definitely go back next time we visit!

Food is so good! Fresh and hearty. It’s a nice little sit down cafe, super mellow, we just love it here.

Quite a pleasant little shop, pleasant people to chat with and nice menu. I've so far only tried a scramble and it was delicious!

Don't order delivery. If they make a mistake, they will still send it to you. Extremally disappointed

We were walking around Multnomah Village looking for lunch options, and saw their menu. So glad we stopped in! We ordered the Grilled Brie sandwich and the Willamette Valley salad. Both were excellent and the service was the best!

This place has 1 of the better tofu scrambles around, they would do better if they read their tickets more often for details like allergens.

The stuffed grape leaves and tzatziki on the Mediterranean plate were the best I’ve ever had.

Based on nothing more than the general appearance of this storefront breakfast Cafe, I was expecting the food to just be just solid. Man was I wrong! My breakfast burrito was absolutely awesome. I exchanged he chicken for bacon on the California chicken breakfast burrito and it totally hit the spot. My wife got an omlett and really enjoyed hers as well. The service was ok, as was the atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back for the food though.

We’re regulars at Down to Earth, we usually go for brunch once a week. It’s almost always a weekday around 1pm and we’ve had no issues with service or food quality. If you visit on the weekend it’s like anywhere else, gets very busy so you’ll wait longer. Yesterday we ordered two items from the specials board; the Huevos Rangeros and Yuppie Skillet - both delicious!

Excellent local cafe, owner on site, caring service. Amazing menu from a small kitchen. Swing away from overcrowded Marco’s and give this family business a try for breakfast or lunch.

I shared the benedict special with salmon and roasted peppers and it was one of the best benedicts I've ever had. Top 5. Eggs were the perfect oozy kinda runny and the flavor really popped.

Best Salmon Benedict in all of Portland. Best brunch in SW Portland. NW scramble is great, as is French toast. Good strong coffee.

My family drove 25 minutes this morning from our home to Down to Earth Cafe because their website advertised "GLUTEN FREE" food. The sandwich board outside their restaurant said "gluten free options, " which I excitedly pointed out to my 15-year old with celiac disease. We unfortunately found out the cafe's statements of it having gluten-free options are lies. This restaurant literally does not have a single gluten free option. Our waitress explained to us that the only gluten free substitute they have is toast and it is toasted in the same toaster as the wheat toast. The waitress also explained that the kitchen does not even have a separate space to prepare or cook food that is naturally gluten free.

Restaurants are of course fee to not offer gluten free options. There is no problem with that. I do have a problem though with a restaurant that aggressively advertises itself as having "GLUTEN FREE" options and then literally having none. As bad as that was, the bigger deal for me and my family was the waitress. Her conduct towards us was unbelievable.

When I politely asked the waitress what menu options could be prepared gluten-free she responded, "We cannot be responsible for people having food allergies. " Ummm.wut? Are you kidding me? I am not making that up or misquoting her. Those are the exact nine words she said to us.

I cannot believe this is a person who works in food service. No one with celiac disease is asking restaurants to "be responsible" for a person's disease.

The waitress then said, "It's not possible to guarantee that gluten does not come into contact with the food. " She truly seemed unaware that millions of gluten-free meals are prepared every day in homes and restaurants across this country. The waitress was visibly annoyed with me for having any expectation of gluten free food.

My family left the restaurant without ordering, and walked next door to Marco's. They provided my son with the best gluten-free french toast he's ever had.

Down to Earth Cafe needs to stop holding itself out as offering gluten free options until it truly does so and trains its workers on how to deal with customers who have celiac disease or a serious food allergy. Whoever this waitress is should probably be moved to a position requiring less interaction with the public.

The food is very good but both times I went the management was very rude. The second time I came in there was no indication of what to do (seat myself or wait to be seated) and the manager looked at me like I was crazy for being confused! The waitresses seem very kind, it’s a shame I won’t be back.
