2 OMG! I cannot wait to return to Ashland, OR and its cute fun walkable downtown shopping plaza. If I had a place to stay, I'd hop in my car, right now and just head north, of course it's COVID19 time, so there wouldn't be much to see or do, but just the feel of being in Oregon, away from the abuses of the bay, just sounds blissful
Downtown Ashland is cute, fun, has quaint clothing boutiques, DIY Crafty shops, restaurants, and dessert shops. Lithia park alone is enough to get me back to Ashland. Its artsy because of the open air Shakespearean performances performed for about 6 months beginning in late May, I believe. Its not a very high traffic area, it's calm, and leisure, time spent perusing the shops is worth it.
The locals, I interacted with were nice, friendly, welcoming, helpful. There's plenty of metered parking, even the downtown office buildings were cute. To say, that I LOVE Ashland, would be putting it very mildly. I absolutely adore this area, and am soooo happy I took an on whim, spontaneous unplanned road trip and fell upon and discovered the area. I just wish I had stayed longer and taken more pictures, rather than driving back to nothing.
I hope EVERYONE who ventures into Oregon, gets to experience Ashland. Even the houses and residential neighborhoods are really cute!
