I’ve had Ryan install a couple of pickups and perform setups on a couple of guitars and I’ve been super happy with the work every time.
A professional, top quality business with friendly and helpful service…!

Ryan and crew at Eastside Guitar Repair are great! Ryan has over 23 year of experience repairing guitars. Ryan also went to the Roberto-Venn School of Luthery, located in Phoenix, AZ, which is seen one the best schools for guitar building and repair in the United States. He was also an early employee at Trade Up Music and helped start the repair department for that music shop in 2000.
Eastside Guitar Repair has helped me with tons of repairs for my person and business's instruments. I've got a really big project where he's going to completely pull apart an old acoustic guitar of mine and do everything like a neck reset, refret, bracing and rebinding on.
Eastside Guitar Repair is located centrally in Portland right on Hawthorne Blvd right be tween 33rd and 34th ave, so it's pretty easy for most people to get to.

I've had them do setups and some repair work on a couple guitars and I'm always really pleased with the results. Also, I'm visually impaired and the staff is always super helpful and accommodating. Highly reccommend

I can't say enough great things about Ryan at East Side Guitar repair. I recently brought in a guitar for a refret and new nut, and I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of the work that was done. Highly recommended. Thanks again!

Great experience today. Got 2 of my basses looked at with accurate evaluations of what they needed. Thanks for the support and keeping me going!

Brought in a guitar I had just bought, online. Cost me $1795. Figured it was worth having someone experienced give it a proper set up, plus I expected the bolt on neck needed adjusting.

Was hoping to deal with the owner but he was gone. The gentleman who helped me, asked me if it was a "cheap guitar" and asked if I could return it. More was said, but I won't go into detail. It was an odd interaction, I felt brushed off.

I ended up going to Guitar Center Clackamas, which is 20 minutes closer to me anyway. I've worked there in the past, I know several of the guys there but the techs are typically swamped and I wanted to give a small business my money.

Anyway, a tech at Guitar Center had it fixed/adjusted in less than a minute.literally.

With the excessively dry summer in 2020 and my inattention to proper humidification (or was it just the bad juju in the air this year?), my Cordoba decided to disassemble itself as it sat on its stand, ripping off its bridge, splitting its top from sound hole almost to its tail. I was stunned and not quite sure where to go. Recommendations pointed to Ryan at Eastside Guitar. Decision was made and I turned the patient over. Just picked it up and, wow, just wow! Can't even see the split. Frets worked over. Bridge flawlessly attached. As an artist and craftsperson, I love beautiful work and this was fantastic work. I highly recommend you take your guitar repair and fix up needs to Ryan. And as I always as. Love! Kerry

I took my guitar in for a setup and intonation fix. The person who helped me (a gentleman with white hair) was very friendly and informative. He was patient with me as I struggled to articulate what I wanted him to help me with. He said it’d be a few days at the most. 24 hours later my guitar was ready for pick up. The action is perfect now, the intonation issue is totally fixed and it didn’t cost too much. I’m glad I gave these guys a shot.

These guys rock! I brought my guitar in with a bunch of problems and they fixed it up right on time. It was a good price, plus I get 3 free adjustments!

Excellent service. I got the nut replaced on my guitar and then set up for an open F tuning. Everything about my guitar works better now. Worth every penny.

FedEx demolished a custom guitar I purchased and Ryan and his team made it look good as new in a reasonable timeframe for significantly less than estimated. Can't say enough good about the quality of the work done here.

I have had 5 or 6 guitars in with Ryan over the past 5 years or so. From setups to new electronics, to repairing a smashed hollowbody (via his trusted network), the work is superb. Every time. Flawless repairs and tech work that lets me get the most out of my hard-earned instruments. I love Eastside.
