Elephant Garlic Festival reviews
11Perfect little set up a few food vendors. The gourmet garlic spice place is there. They have a little area for kids to play. Theres not much shade so make sure to go early or take umbrella. Definitely try the garlic mashed potatoes those were great.
Garlic fest is a blast. Drink plenty of water before hand tho, it is hot during the day and seating in the shade can be hard to find as everyday is busy.
Great festival, we had a lotta fun. Size is just right so we can see all the artisans, get some good food, and not be exhausted.
Deliciously delightful festival. Great shopping with local vendors and lots of garlicky goodness.
The parade was pretty good for a town of that size. The car show was pretty decent and was made even better by the type and years of the cars present. There was plenty of room on either side of the road to hang out and watch the parade go by. The part of the festival held at the park was primarily vendors. It would have been nice if they had had more elephant garlic related events, or tasting or something. Event t-shirts were $30, and elephant garlic was $9 a pound
It was not a "garlic" festival
Disappointed to say the least.
I wanted to see more garlic themed foods, activities.anything
I go every year. Last of the small town fun. As I really enjoy garlic this festival is great. Lots of hand made items of every thing you can imagine. Art. Food. Collectables. Our church does an amazing worship service as well. I get my addiction of gyros filled each year and the garlic mashed potatoes. The jerky guy is a must visit, his ghost pepper, and teriyaki jerky are very good. Also you should stop at the BBQ sauce guys. And if you're feeling adventurous you can try some garlic ice cream.
I was expecting even more of an emphasis on garlic, but it was still a very fun time! Stinkee the elephant came around and that was very fun. Good samples. Maneuverability in a wheelchair was a little difficult on the grass, but overall okay. There was ADA parking.
It is more of a general festival with the title called Elephant Garlic. There were very few "garlic" related items (food or vendors). If you are looking for a free place to drop in to shop vendors and pick up typical festival-type food, pop in. But if you are looking for something unique or lots of garlic-related items, then skip it. There is garlic ice cream (basically vanilla ice cream with garlic in it) you can buy. (Recommendation - have smaller tastings for $2 to see if we like it before we pay $7.) And there are several vendors selling a variety of garlic including Elephant Garlic - of course.
Crowded, unorganized, hot. Once was enough. Nobody knew where anything was. The fire department had free water but that wasn't common knowledge.
Who doesn't love live music, getting drunk with everybody you get drunk with all the time but not all at the same time so everyone parties like they haven't seen each other in years. Lots of food with lots of garlic. All sorts of tables to purchase memorabilia and paraphernalia and who doesn't want a henna tattoo before jumping in the bouncy house. Drown all that in Garlic and you got a festival!
