I've been coming here for years and it used to be 1 of my favorite places but every time we come here this place gets worse and worse.

First- The main dock to go crabbing on was shut down, which was the main reason I came.

Second- Only 1 of the hot tubs worked and it was barely hot, and my wife told me the ladies sauna also wasn't operational.

Third- My hotel room quality was what i would expect out of a motel 6. Poor lighting, cheap metal bedframe, and just lack of maintenance throughout the whole place as well as the rest of the hotel.

Needless to say because of ths experience I won't be staying at this establishment again until they can get their act together. I really hope you can make this place enjoyable again someday.

I rented two rooms for a wedding here.the fireplace room and a conference room.we rented them for two days the day before and the day of.we were told we could have the room at 11.got there and it was neither room were cleaned from the last party.we couldn't start decorating until after 5 o'clock.the fireplace room has two leaks in the roof, and there were balloons on the ceiling from there last party in that room and the management refuse to do anything about them.ended up doing some of the cleaning ourselves and the house keeping man (while very nice) was a bit over whelmed.we were still charged whole price.will not recommend, will not return.side note: the whole placed smelled of cooked crab not the hotels fault but it defiantly made the wedding a bit off.

Odor in room when we first arrived. Extra blanket iin closet was visibly dirty. And the worst thing was I saw a roach on the kitchen counter one morning. I killed it and did not see anymore after that, or we would have left from there. I also notified them at the office. Not the best experience.

The Embarcadero used to be good, 10 years ago. It’s definitely gone down hill. ZERO room service, when we went to the front desk to ask for more towels, the lady seemed annoyed.
Room is extremely old and outdated, the walls are EXTREMELY thin. The people above us/ next to us were soooo loud! It sounded like they were moving furniture around at 2AM! None of us got any sleep staying her our neighbors were freakishly loud. The only good thing about staying here is how close you are to the bay front & the view from the room, that’s it. Will never stay here again after this last visit.

We normally love the Embarcadero, but this visit might be our last. We planned our Thanksgiving week vacation months in advance as my husband started a new job and we don’t have any days off together. This was going to be a perfect Thanksgiving week vacation of crabbing and family time.
One of the main reasons we like staying here is they have a pirate crab dock that is easy and accessible for guests. Their best amenity if you ask me.
We check in and go to our room and get settled, then load our stuff up to go crabbing. We get down to the dock and see that it is fenced and locked. Upon looking further we see that the dock had become unhinged in one spot. An easy fix, that they chose not to do. No mention of the dock being closed on their website, and not a word said when we checked in either. A simple notification of this at check in would of saved us the time of packing all our stuff up and hauling it down there, only for it to be closed. To be honest having known that the crabbing dock was closed before we came down here we definitely would’ve canceled our reservation and booked a hotel right on the ocean. We spoke with several other guests during our stay that were just as disappointed as we were that the crabbing dock was closed with no mention of it.
The room was also extremely dirty. The kitchen sink smelled of foul rotting seafood. There were actually dirty plates with food left on it still in the cupboard. The pads on the dining room chairs were so disgustingly stained they look like they needed to be changed years ago. Dust all around the room as well. No bedding provided for the pull out couch which we intended on using. Also for a room that had four people staying in it we had two towels and half a roll of toilet paper upon arrival.
Over all the place felt dingy, and we were beyond disappointed about the dock. They need to do some major up keep on the property. Great view of the bay though.

Positives first: Our unit had a nice view of the bay. The kitchen was adequately furnished and the bed was comfortable. Wifi worked reliably. Towels and linens were fine. The bartender in the restaurant (Mallory, I think) was great and the food was decent.

Negatives: The shower didn't work properly (the tub/shower diverter was broken). I reported it to the desk agent, who was annoyed at being asked to deal with a problem. Later in the day, with no repair evident, I asked again and the evening desk agent said there was no record of he problem. After dinner, somebody had been by to check and managed to finagle the thing into working, sort of. We just lived with it for not sending the full water stream to the shower head for the the was t remainder of our 7 night stay.

This "resort" is really a bunch of privately owned condos that are are just rented out by the facility. Our unit had curtains instead of closet doors and was painted in very dark colors. The owner left helpful notes on how to use the TV and stereo, which was nice, but the hide-a-bed couch was very uncomfortable.

The appliances, sinks and shower were clean, the floors were not - dust bunnies and dead bugs under the bed and the chairs the the living room. Not awful, but not what you expect in a "resort".

The other couple we were traveling with had an almost identical unit in a different building that was owned by a timeshare company (Vacations International) and theirs had been more recently updated and had a laundry pair, which ours did not.

The front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. When I checked in I asked to pay using a different card than the reservation was booked on, was told that would be no problem. I gave her my card and assumed it was handled, but when I checked out I noticed that our bill had been charged to my wife's card. I asked the agent (the same one who DIDN'T handle the shower problem) to refund the wrong card and charge the right card but was told she didn't know how. She said she would have her manager correct the problem, which of course did not happen. I also asked for the manager to call me, which also did not happen.

I'm well aware of the challenges facing the service industry in these pandemic times, but think Embarcadero should do better. Our experience didn't ruin our vacation, but it was not a high point either.

I’m a local, and the owner of a short term rental management business locally. We live about 30 minutes east (obviously can’t be west lol) and sometimes when my husband is in (commercial fisherman) we will stay in town. My standards are a bit high being in the hospitality business, so I own that. But as a local we could totally be doing better at Embarcadero.

The staff was kind. I didn’t have issues with them. A few people that were checking in did have issues with their reservation details (wrong room, wrong floor…things like that). But the front desk staff were kind in spite of angry travelers (this business isn’t for everyone).

The restaurant there now was excellent. I enjoyed my meal, so did my husband.

My issue came down to cleanliness. As others have said that they arrived to dirty rooms I have to say it’s absolutely true. Before my company grew I did the housekeeping in the vacation rentals I manage…there’s no excuse for the shoddy work being done in these rentals. We stayed two nights, in two different rooms. Both rooms were dirty. Toilets not cleaned, sinks not wiped out, mirrors dirty. Not vacuumed. And look, this wouldn’t be that surprising in a hotel charging $75 a night, but they’re charging a lot more than that. I don’t know if they’re understaffed or what, maybe their housekeepers have too many rooms to clean in a day. I have no idea. But it’s obvious it’s more of a “‘make beds, grab trash, quick wipe down” than it is actually cleaning the room.

Also yes, there are permanent residents there. I don’t know why that’s an issue to travelers. As long as you’re respectful the permanent residents shouldn’t be a problem. Embarcadero used to be much better. It’s unfortunate that it’s slipping.

Next time I stay in town it won’t be there. But I will go back to that fantastic restaurant.

Let me tell you something that online travel agents do not want u to know about. When reserving resorts use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ They've got the best deals on hotels! So much better than using orbitz, tripadvisor, agoda. That's for sure!

Visited Jack sprats restaurant. Great food great service. Our waitress Desiree was very helpful and professional. Definitely will visit again. And thank you again to staff cooks and Desiree for the wonderful experience thank you

This was mine and my Family's first trip to Oregon! All's i can say is that I/we will be back and this would be the first and only place that I seen that i would stay at! ZERO complaints with my stay at all. Staff friendly and helpful as could be and location and room couldn't have been any better! THANKS and hopefully see you all again soon!

View was breathtaking. The only thing I hated was having to walk to the front desk for extra toilet paper and pool towels.

The first time staying was amazing, but the second time the room had no outlets that worked and it was really dated. Nice views though.

We stayed in the queen 1 bdrm with full kitchen. We had a great stay albeit going in with low expectations after reading reviews ahead of time. The resort is old and outdated but maintains some coastal charm in that. Room was clean, smelled vaguely of fish but did not bother us during our stay. We stayed nice and warm, had a lovely view despite stormy weather. The only downside was the comfort of the bed. It was pretty bad. The kitchen was decently stocked but we brought our own salt and pepper Etc for the cooking we planned to do. Overall, would stay again. Thanks Embarcadero!

Built in 1973.last updated in 2005. That lack of attention to and investment in the property certainly shows. This is a hotel with adjoining condos which look to be simply larger 'hotel suites'. Nothing special.incredibly dated countertops, flooring and fixtures. The pool for residents will comfortably accommodate about 3 adults, no more. I gave it a 2 star vs. 1star rating only because the condo I was in had a view of the bay and relatives were located there. That 'kinda sorta' made it worth it. I am sure Newport has better place to offer than the tired, old, overpriced Embarcadero.

A quiet bar that us locals love. Unless you're staying at the hotel itself, you wouldn't even know it was there, which makes it a quiet place to get a meal and some drinks. Even on their busiest days you're not going to be waiting long for a table. The views are awesome and the prices are pretty damn good for a Bayside view with fresh seafood. If you want to impress somebody, show them that you know about this place, it's almost a guarantee they didn't even know about it, and they will enjoy their food and experience

Literally staying in a room right now. It reeks like tobacco smoke. Someone clearly attempted to smoke in the bathroom prior to our stay. We called the front desk upon check in to let them know.the young lady working this afternoon 10/1 around 1600 hrs. Just totally blew us off and couldn't care. We told her the room stank like smoke. She literally just said. "Oh, ok". This is pretty trashy place.

Very nice place nicely situated on Yacquina Bay. My sister has a time share there so it all worked out well. The Oregon coast is fabulous.too bad the state is a communist utopia. So.nice place to visit (no sales tax) but not sure how people afford to live there.
