The staff is absolutely what makes this place stand out. Parking is a breeze as they do have a valet (paid) and just about anything we needed (including two additional fans to circulate the air) was provided. The AC in the rooms could be better, but this was a great location with excellent service.

Most everything was great, but our car was broken into overnight in the hotel’s parking garage during our one night stay. I called the front desk about the incident and to inquire about footage, and was told I need to file a police report for them to contact the hotel as the hotel does not cover anything that occurs in their garage (I was told it’s owned by the hotel by people that looked like staff walking through the parking garage as we discovered my car was broken into). The reason I am writing a review is to heed people not to use the parking garage. If you live in the area and want to stay here, save yourself the trouble and Uber. I could tell by the response of the front desk associate that this was not the first occurrence. Otherwise, good breakfast and a very pretty hotel with a fun pool. Overall it’s in a nice central location in walking distance to many great restaurants.

Amazing hotel. The former famed Multnomah Hotel, where President Roosevelt, Charles Lindbergh, Queen Marie, Elvis, and famous jazz and cabaret performers have all stayed. Gorgeous lobby, fantastic rooms, exceptional staff from the front desk to the valets to the housekeeping. Free full breakfast every morning. Lots of history mixed with well appointed rooms smack in the middle of downtown Portland. Walking distance to Voodoo Doughnuts, Dante's, the river, the historic district, you name it. Two great restaurants on site, Mother's and Kingsland Kitchen. Both get very busy for good reason. This is a fantastic place to stay. The wifi is actually incredibly reliable and fast. If you need to find a good place to work this place will suit your needs. On site self service laundry behind room key locked door, nice pool, hot coffee early in the morning, fast valet parking. Air Conditioning in the rooms is great. TVs support HDMI input, plenty of plugs and comfortable chairs. Full housekeeping is available everyday but only by request due to COVID. But hasn't been a problem.

We go to a lot of embassy suites, and this one doesnt quite measure up. Ignoring the big/sad changes to downtown, the breakfast and accommodations were sub-par. Our room’s AC was broken, so they had us schlep our stuff down the hall to a new room, which is annoying when traveling with a baby (and their stuff). The breakfast bar was not “embassy suites” quality and valet was always a long wait. There are better options nearby and across the river.

Pros: Great location (plenty of local, delicious food very close by), great valet parking, staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast and evening reception was tasty.

Cons: The pool was pretty dirty and the building is pretty tired. I realize it's a historical building but it still needs some refreshing or restorations

One of my favorite places to stay in downtown Portland. They have a happy hour for guests from 5: 30 to 7 and provide snacks and drinks complimentary with your stay. The pool is also nice and pretty large with 2 hot tubs. Located a block from Voodoo Donuts as well and many restaurants. The rooms are clean and large but Many come with no view.or a view of the other rooms.

This is a lovely hotel. I'd have given it five stars if the room had been cleaned a little better prior to our arrival. There was syrup on the chair and floor. The pool was an absolutely wonderful feature of the hotel. It was the perfect refreshing temperature. The lobby was beautiful and grand. The beds were very comfortable.

This is a grand, beautiful hotel, totally remodeled. Our suite was so spacious, and the breakfast and happy hour were unexpected touches. They were on top of everything. It was a highlight of our Portland trip. The only downside (not the hotel’s fault at all) was the number of homeless and tents near and throughout the city really - we never felt threatened or anything, but it brings the mood down for sure.

Was not impressed with the hotel, after paying close to 400 a night. The pull out bed was extremely uncomfortable you could feel the coils in mattress. The card keys would not work and still had to pay for parking. Will never stay in this place again.

Had a terrible stay! People were running around in the hallways and banging on my door. I called the lobby and they did absolutely nothing! They told me they couldn’t do anything so I had to deal with it for the rest of the night.

It's a beautiful place and the front desk is super friendly especially this girl Natalie that waited on me. So professional and friendly and was able to answer all of my questions. I would definitely be back, mainly because of the excellent service.

Beautiful historic building, central location, really large rooms, and even though we had a small housekeeping problem, front desk staffperson Natalie was excellent and helped us with it immediately. Pool and gym were closed during our stay.

I stayed here during a trip to Portland and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although most of my time was spent out of my room, the front desk and dining room attendants were professional and helpful. I loved the coffee and bacon during complimentary breakfast hours and the suite was spacious and clean. Right in the heart of downtown, it's in perfect walking distance to a lot of hot tourist spots like Powell's Books and Voodoo Doughnut, as well as food trucks, bars and restaurants.

Very clean rooms, excellent view, and friendly staff! We had a very early flight so we called ahead and for a small and reasonable fee we were able to check in early in the morning and enjoy the breakfast a day early!
Mother's restaurant, located in the lobby, had amazing cocktails and deserts which was a perfect way to end a day of walking the city.

I have stayed at this Embassy several times in the past. Rooms are very roomy and nice, breakfast is stellar. However, I am extremely disappointed that I was not warned of the condition around the hotel. Downright not safe for families. Tents lined the block (s). Gunshots all night that kept me awake. Fire alarm was pulled at night and left several guests in the lobby like sitting ducks. I paid almost $400 for the room and I will never pay this price again if my safety cannot be guaranteed. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE.

Good rooms and staff and breakfast. Pool area also nice, security needed at entrance many transients entering building in early a.m. With one staff member to try and handle them. Outside of building unsafe

Hotel was overall clean and room was sufficient once we were moved out of first room that had a broken pull-out sofa and some previous guests belongings left in the bathroom. Outside the hotel there were tons of groups of tents and homeless people all around. The atmosphere outside the hotel did not make me feel comfortable walking around to certain places I had planned to visit. Inside the hotel the breakfast that they served was very good and the pool was great to have for the kids to use.

We reserved two adjoining rooms as we had a 15-month old with us. Our rooms were ready early and we were allowed to check in around 1 p.m. The rooms were modern, clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Everyone from the valet on in were extremely friendly and professional. Due to COVID the rooms were not cleaned everyday unless you asked. We asked for clean towels and they arrived within minutes as did a request for glasses. The surrounding area, it was the perfect location for our needs. Close to shopping, restaurants and the Max. Yes, Portland has a homeless issue but we never felt threatened even when strolling down the block with a small child. Mothers restaurant in the lobby was fabulous and accommodating to our needs with a child. I generally stay on the east side of the river but I think this hotel will be our home-base for future Portland visits.

The embassy suites parking garage stairs smelled of urine so took the embassy suites parking garage elevator and there was a puddle of urine in the elevator. Our room wasn't all the way cleaned and stocked.

Beautiful, and classy hotel. Nice staff and with great amenities.

Only issue is the surroundings around the hotel. Homeless tents and endless trash made it difficult to tour the area. This is the responsibility of the city, and the people running it, has let down the business owners and citizens. Too bad.
