The guys and gals at Excel went above and beyond when they took on the job of refinishing and painting our corroded Hoyer lift. Their attention to detail and the quality of their workmanship more than justifies the modest price for the job. And now this lift, which we use to get my wheelchair-bound wife out of the hot tub, works and looks so much better than it used to - thank you, Excel Finishing!

If you are a small business running less than $50,000/year (through Excel) save your time.

Initial quote is a reasonable local rate to get you involved but that rate will slowly will creep up. At some point Excel may well be quoting you double or triple for the same job and acting like it's a favor they are doing to keep your project moving forward.

In our case we went from $3.75 initial quote (we paid extra to run local in Portland, rather than with a reliable finisher in Michigan who ran the same job for $1.81) in 2018 to $5.75 in 2019 to $8.75 'we will have to run you in time and a half or it's not worth our time — we are doing you a favor' in 2020.

*If you have the volume to keep them honest (and a backup source to quote against) that's fine and the work quality is good. *

2 Stars = 0 stars for customer service and support of small business, 1 Star for value and 5 stars for quality of work. Small contracts look else where and keep a secondary / competing quoting source handy, you may well need to fall back to it in a hurry.
