Experience Point reviews
19Cozy game shop with a solid selection of Magic the Gathering singles and booster packs/commander decks. They also had Pokemon and I think some miniatures, but I don't know much about those. I found the prices on MtG singles to be really good, and the person behind the counter was friendly and very helpful. Overall an A+ experience.
This has become one of my favorite neighborhood places. Really welcoming, helpful, and all around excellent customer service.
It’s a pretty nice place but his elite trainer boxes are overpriced and the guy wasn’t mean but wasn’t nice
Terrific knowledgeable service and reliable stock. Small, to the advantage of its customers. Great atmosphere cultivated by the owner.
I went to get pokemon cards because they are out everywhere. Had this elite trainer box for shinning fates at a decent price. Definitely will be returning again
Love this place. Went in with my s/o and daughters and had a great experience. Guy behind the counter (owner?) was really nice, answered our questions, gave great service, and offered some background on the place. Great experience, made a purchase simply for the good time, will be back to get more! Check it out! Looks like they were possibly broken into also which is a shame for a local business so make sure to support so they can get more products
Absolutely PHENOMINAL card shop. The owner was super friendly to me, finding a card I needed in a booster and giving it to me (free of charge.) Had a great selection of cards, I got almost all of my cards there I needed for my deck. Was super helpful and friendly with me, I'd love to go again. 10/10, I would love to go once I come back.
Super friendly owners who are extremely knowledgeable! Would definitely return, they were fun to talk to!
Stopped into the shop for the first time yesterday just to check it out and had a very pleasant experience. Owner seemed pretty down to earth, lots of MTG singles for sale and fairly priced. I’m trying to support my local game store more now just trying to keep them open threw COVID so the when this is behind us they will still be here and we can play together again. So I bought a couple cards and a pack of Sleeves. Was surprised when he told me the price of one of the cards was $2 LESS then listed on C. K. And no shipping. Definitely coming back. Hope your around for years to come.
Pretty cool place. The guy I spoke to was nice enough. He didn't particularly treat me badly, or well. He was kind of nonchalant about my presence. I tried sparking conversation, and expressed my interest in the game or Magic The Gathering. But he either wasn't interested in speaking about it, or. I don't know. Maybe I smelled funny? Lol
My reason for being there was to present the Magic cards I had and see how much u could get for it. I know nothing about the game, other than the basics. And I especially don't know anything regarding value of magic cards. I excepted the first offer he told me. And I left.
There's not a lot of stuff inside the store. It's been there for more than a year now. I live very close by. And I expected them to have more stuff in the store by now. But no. No shelves with merchandise, other than the simple glass cases. Very open, and empty place. Nothing to really get you excited about. It's also dimly lit.
Anyway, if you need a place to go in a hurry. Come here. If you want super friendly staff, welcoming interior, and lots of stuff to look at and spend money on, don't come here.
I like this place cuz it's owned by good people that are helpful and honest, the prices are the same or less than other places (MTG packs are cheaper than anywhere else in town last I checked). Parking is usually fine on Broadway.
The dude with the ponytail in there tried giving me 11 dollars for $70 dollars worth of cards. No paperwork no asking for my ID like you would expect I think he was trying to rip me and the store off but the other employee the chick one is alright
Experience Points is the best. The owner is always patient with middle school kids who shop at his store. My 11-year-old plays Magic there during pre-release events and is treated with respect and kindness.
Friendly local game shop that hosts well-organized events on a weekly basis. The owner/manager is a really great guy who just likes to see others enjoy games like Magic: the Gathering.
Amazing place just amazing has some cards stolen and this place received them called the police and I was able to get all of them back couldn’t be more grateful speechless!
Unpretentious and friendly with plenty of space for new and veteran magic players to gather and play.
The staff is great. Only place I know of that you can sell off trading cards in Portland. You can just sit down at a table with friends and play a game. One problem is there isn't any free water, so you can get very thirsty while there, so bring water. Prices of products are cheap.
Don’t let the small store fool you - Experience Point has incredibly knowledgeable staff, as well as draws in a broad and engaged community. They’ve been phenomenal with my 5 year old as he’s picked up Pokémon, and have been patiently helping me as I’ve picked up both Pokémon and Magic The Gathering alike. This place really does offer something for both beginners and enthusiasts, players and supporters. Definitely check it out!
This place is great. The most knowledgeable people Ive met on Magic: The gathering. Everything is a bit cheaper then others stores.
