Farmer And The Beast reviews
16Two ultra thin patties. Tasty, but not nothing to get your teeth into and had to eat a protein bar to feel satiated after.
The type of burger this city has been missing! Don't sleep on the green ranch and their burger sauce is probably best in the city.
The meat had such flavor and texture and the way they put the burger together makes this a solid top 5 burger spot in all of Portland (I've eaten over 650 burgers in this city!)
The truffle fries were a little pricey for the portion size but bomb and the sauces made everything quite satisfactory.
I'll be coming back!
I recently decided to visit this place based on the buzz surrounding their supposedly mouth-watering sandwiches. I, an ardent lover of burgers, went for their much-hyped 'Smash Burger', while my partner chose another popular sandwich, their chicken sandwich, from the menu.
Upon our first bite, our expectations hit the ceiling but soon came crashing down. The Smash Burger, priced at a whopping $11, was mediocre at best. While it wasn't awful, it certainly didn't deliver the taste explosion that the price tag implied.
However, the second sandwich – the one my partner ordered – outdid the first in disappointing us. It was so drenched in grease that it was rendered practically inedible. What was meant to be a deliciously indulgent meal quickly became a sloppy mess, so much so that it necessitated a small mountain of napkins to combat the deluge of oil. I've attached a picture here and you can see just how much oil we're talking about.
I understand that some people may enjoy a certain level of greasiness in their sandwiches. However, this was way overboard, and frankly, felt like it undermined the ingredients' inherent flavors. This sandwich should come with a warning sign or perhaps a bib!

One of the best smash burgers and chicken thigh sandwiches I've had. You can go from double to quad patties if you dare!
11/10! Best burger I’ve had in Portland. Seriously, I crave this burger now. Garlic fries are amazing too. Super friendly folks running the place. Will definitely be back and back again
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Asked the server for his suggestion and he had a few amazing tweaks to add. Ultimately what I had was too notch and the staff and owners are amazing people. I absolutely will be going back.
Delicious no frills burger at a reasonable price. I highly recommend trying the beast burger! Impossible burger is also good if you're vegetarian.
I'm not sure if I'll try again. I'd expect the beast burger to be the flagship of this cart. I kid you not, it taste like a whoppah but for $13. I get if it's farm to table, but you gotta do better taste than the king, cmon! The beast burger can't possibly be why people return.
Best burger I’ve ever had. The bacon steak that I added to my beast burger was amazing. Also the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had.
Best salads ever. They blend the most unique items and they are soooo good! Also the vegan burger is amazing.
Amazing, and reasonably priced.
Most of Foodcarts over hyped their prices, however this place kept it reasonable. Will come back, quality!
Good smash burgers but a little over hyped. Not worth waiting for so if there’s a line choose something else in the pods, there’s plenty of really good options
What a great food cart. Great options for meals here. I got the burger and it was absolutely amazing. The grilled onions on top were fantastic highly recommend getting that added on to your burger. Smash burger patties were super fresh and tender and so much flavor. Wasn't to big but not to small either it was perfect size. Fries were super fresh cooked perfectly and comes with a suace of your choice. I got the herbed ranch it was very unique take on ranch it was super good with the fries. Definitely going to make this my usual lunch spot. If you haven't tried this place you need to
I had a really delicious burger and fries here! The extra herby ranch was the cherry on top. Service was efficient and polite. The seating area for the cart pod is also really nice! The fire was going when I was there.
9 times out of 10, they serve one of the best burgers in Portland. 1/10 it was horrid, soggy bun, cold beef mush. I have loved to place until they served me literally the worst burger of my life and I am not sure I want to go back.
The portions are insane, the chicken beast was super tasty and crispy, one of the best I’ve ever had!
