Fern Restaurant & Lounge reviews
14We went here on a Monday because no other restaurant in town was open for breakfast. My husband got the breakfast skillet and thought it was alright. I got the Minced ham and eggs. The hash browns were fried in soybean oil and I did not like the taste of that. Mediocre food with horrible service. We only saw a waitress when ordering our food. When they came to give us our food they dropped it off and walked away. And when interacting with the workers, they were apathetic. A smile when entering would be nice. After about 3 bites, instead of checking to see how everything was like at a normal restaurant, they walked by and as they passed they dropped the check off. No one even came to see if we needed more water. My husband had to get up and retrieve his own to go box. You pay at the counter and it took several minutes for someone to come check us out. Only reasons this deserves 2 stars instead of 1 is because their hours were accurate on Google and they are open on Monday’s. Did not like it here.
Some of the food is delicious and then some of the food has little flavor. I like going there because it has a good family atmosphere. My stepson loves the pizza so we'll keep going.
Just basic All-American food. We stopped in for breakfast and coffee, so I really can't say a lot. I had oatmeal, rye toast and coffee. It was descent. I certainly can't complain about anything. The staff were very nice.
Stopped by The Fern while visiting Tillamook and if you want great food, great prices, friendly service this is the place. Their Burgers are the Best and the sweet potato fries, delicious. Our grandson order breakfast (served all day) and the pancakes were so big and fluffy, yum! So much better than fast food joints. Great home cooking.
Great place that seemed popular with the locals. Friendly service, the girl kept our water and coffee topped up. And great breakfast!
Very yummy! The homemade chips were so good I could eat plates of them. And the chowder was super tasty. Service was friendly too!
Food was good, service was rough at the beginning but finished alright. They were short handed, but not very busy.
We arrived at 1: 45 p.m. On Tuesday. We didn't see the business hours posted until the way out. We stood there waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes. Multiple staff made eye contact and some apologized for not attending to our group. Most just hurried along ignoring us. One girl finally apologized after tending to other customers. Then she came and said she could seat us but would need to get our order right away because the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. That's when we found out the hours. We left because we'd rather not risk our meal to a crew that was clearly overwhelmed and ready to end the day at 2 p.m. On the way out the door I snapped a photo of the hours and the note about the restaurant being short-staffed.
Delicious breakfast! Sat us quick too! Got the scramble and it didn't disappoint! Good kid options and menu anyone can choose from. Why knock a star off then you may ask? The gravy was clearly from powder.it hurt my soul seeing powdered gravy ontop of amazing eggs and hashbrowns.
Food looks like pretty standard diner fare, but everything tasted really, really fantastic. The beef seems to be grilled really well too.
They even cooked my steak right! Though you might ask them to out a bit more salt on the steak before grilling, as I felt mine was underseasoned (I usually think my steak is underseasoned at restaurants).
Nice enough looking joint. The staff was friendly. Ultimately, the food was disappointing. The cooks here have not heard of salt or seasoning.
We were on the road traveling and wanted pizza. And wow this place is a hidden gem for pizza. Especially they had delicious gluten free pizza. You get 10 slices for $14. Awesome pizza!
I was really happy with the food. I had a burger they called the logger. Thick patty of beef with egg and bacon. Fresh tomato and onion with pickles on the side. Lots of side options for lunches. Took a min to get a waitress for our order but after that things rolled along nicely all of the staff was friendly.
My friend mentioned that the restaurant has been in tillamook for a very long time and even moved from its original location. That said I noticed old pictures of town. Would be cool to see pictures of the restaurant and it's history.
