Fernhill Wetlands reviews
16Lots of birds to see all times of the year. Trails are occasionally closed after heavy rains. The majority of the trails are easy to walk on.
This is a beautiful park, with a few miles of well-maintained trails, a sizeable parking lot, plenty of interesting wildlife viewing opportunities - and the worst restroom in this zip code. It’s absolutely vile, and there’s only one, despite the amount of people that visit. It’s dark, somehow always wet, often dirty, usually busy, and is unfortunately the only option in the area. It doesn’t stop us from visiting, but you should be aware of how deeply inadequate their facilities are before you go.
What you can see for birds is seasonal and depends on their migratory schedules. Some of the paths can get very muddy when wet. You will always find some unique bird to identify, never disappointing.
Guaranteed to see birds and usually some critters. Unassuming and close to town, but tons of wildlife. No elevation, most trails are graveled and wide.
Enchanting, bring your binoculars; it will take you several visits to see the whole place.
Beautiful place to walk and see wild life.
Walking there this morning in 28 degrees was like walking inside a snow flake with everything being frozen around. I will definitely come back at spring time. Excellent place for bird watching.
I love going on walks here with my kids. What a great place for some fresh air and to be able to run around in nature.
Love walking the trails with my kids. Very nice walking park and kept up. It's peaceful.
One of the only natural water treatment plants in America, I think there was one other one if I remember right.
700 acres and a some nice walking paths.
For it being on the same property as the sewage treatment facility, it's actually pretty pleasant there. It's quiet, and relaxing. There's a plethora of animals and insects to watch and enjoy. Got to enjoy a blue heron today. Several wood ducks were also present. Saw lots of dragonflies and butterflies. Flat gravel trails through out. No bikes. No dogs. They're still working on expanding the park, and improvements. Nice place for a lite hike/stroll.
Perfect for shorter walks or loop around the ponds and make a longer route of it.
No dogs or bikes so it’s a great place for little ones to go and feel like they are on a grand hike.
Excellent for bird watching and
Very scenic.
Shaded gazebo look out points for observing the nature and benches to rest on. Wide flat paths, gravel and dirt pack in most places.
Peaceful.
Great place to get out and walk about. Some construction going on, so middle pathway was blocked
This place used to be very good, but since the construction of the past few years.it is now great! They kept everything that was right about the old grounds, but simply enhanced the existing pathways/grounds or added even more beauty. Wonderful new plantings and expanded parking. This almost never happens; a beloved place gets a make over and totally keeps the soul of the original. One of our favorite birdy hikes in the area. Thank you!
Clean and well-kept trails/paths. Beautiful bridges and wetlands provide a family-friendly environment to explore and learn. Bird-watcher's paradise.
Beautiful park with lovely walking trails that are kid friendly. Lots of wildlife. Mostly birds so be sure to bring some binoculars or a nature guide.
Very nice place to just stroll and see wildlife. And shouldn't forget all the plants. Lots blooming the day we were there
