They were great the first year, then raised Overdraft fee from 26 to 33 and during the recent snow storm while I was out of power for 10 days they charged me 3 overdraft fees of 33$/each. I called in tears because I had put money back into my account the next day and 2 of the fees were from merchants that reversed the charges. They refused to reverse the fees and I've been living off food boxes and not going anywhere because I have no gas and one more week to go before payday. I'm switching my bank ASAP. EVIL "CREDIT UNION"

I was told there would be a 2 day hold on a check deposit at this location, only to be surprised later by a *10-day* hold. After trying and being completely unable to find the branch phone number, the FirstTech Fed general customer support assured me that the branch would personally call me back that afternoon to sort things out.

They never bothered to call me back.

It shouldn't be so difficult to get help with a problem, especially one caused by FirstTech giving me bad information to begin with. Unfortunately, after another mix up just a month earlier - and a few incidents of having cards deactivated for "suspicious activity" with no effort to contact me - it seems communications problems are something of a theme at FirstTech in general.

Update: They promised to call me and then didn't a *second* time. It's becoming very clear to me how little my business matters to them.

The ability to pay student loan principal has been taken away in the past online banking making it hard to pay extra when we have extra to pay. Seems like they are encouraging students to keep debt as we have to call them every time we want to do this. Most banks allow principal only payments, the ability to round up payments etc. First Tech even writes an article about getting rid of student debt by making extra payments or rounding up. This went away in November with the new online interface. Disappointing. The company touts helping students pay down debt but in reality the students pay more. Recently we tried to make a large payment but since it was from another bank they told us to ETF or transfer between accounts. When we did this they held the money (even though it was a bank to bank transfer) causing us to pay a few extra days interest on the loan.

Someone comes out to ask what service you need, checks to see whether/when you can see someone. Everyone is friendly and courteous.

Branch service is fine, but if you have to ask a simple question, don't expect to be able to reach anyone on the phone. No direct branch phone numbers are listed, so you have call a ridiculously frustrating centralized automated call system. What would be so bad about allowing your customers to reach their branch directly via phone? Just plain bad customer service design.

I have banking here more than 15 years. They charged me a 33 dollars overdraft fee which I asked to be waived due to withdrawing from the wrong account. They flat out refused. No more customer services in any shape. Go to Advantis Credit which take care of their customers. I will be closing my First Tech account, they do not care about their customers.

I have been a First Tech member for the last couple of years I was with US Bank before and I really hated it there, since going over to First Tech I have felt like part of the family they have been always super nice and on top of everything that Ive had questions or concerns about and they are very understanding! I just talk to Andrew with the insurance department today about getting a lower rate for my car insurance and he was very helpful and I got an A+ service Answered all of my questions and gave me a peace of mind and really help me to understand the policy that I will be getting I would recommend First Tech to anyone of my friends or family I think that they are a great bank and a great set of people they have!

I have been trying to get a hold of them for three days. I haven't received loan information yet and I can't even make a payment because I don't have any of the information. I keep getting told I will get a call back but nothing. It is very frustrating.

I've been a member since this was the Tektronix Employee CU. That makes it 35 years now. Compared to the alternate, it's hard to bet them as a bank. However, the last few years there seems to be a transition from personal service to self serve tech. I understand that trend, but the more 1st Tech moves away from people and service to technology - the more they become like every other bank. It's a sad industry trend. Still, I like them and will continue to be a customer.

I have always liked First Tech in the past, but I found out today you cannot call the branch you want, or even email them! I was asked by a branch manager to email him a form. I lost the business car, where it was written. I called the help number only to be told they cannot give out phone numbers or email addresses. This is ridiculous!

I just got off the phone with a representative at First Tech. He was efficient and polite. We have been members at First Tech for decades, and have done all of our car loans through them. We have never had any problems with First Tech.

Would not recommend at all. We have been members for over 5 years and in the last several months there have been multiple fraud issues and credit card numbers that have been hacked. Their card machines are constantly down, and I no longer feel that my money is safe in their possession at this point in time.

Staff is always helpful, friendly, and professional. As an institution, First Tech has always done right by me and after nearly 10 years, I have literally not a single complaint. Would (and do) recommend them to anybody.

Jen Pereda is First-Tech's best asset. She is not only knowledge and friendly, but delivers the most accurate of information possible. Jim, the manager is very professional and always greets me with a handshake and asks how I'm doing. Won't bank with anyone else but First-Tech.

I've had my money in First Tech for just over 10 years now. My family and I always get excellent service at this branch in Beaverton. EVERYONE is friendly and knowledgeable! Recently, the bank manager helped me out with a money transfer that had to be completed before the weekend. He followed up and made sure it was done on time! I really appreciated the personal touch and so will you if you bank here.
