Fort Dalles Museum and Anderson Homestead reviews
9Curator was super friendly and explained a lot of the property and buildings. Well worth seeing.
This was such a great stop. Staff was friendly and seemed to really enjoy sharing about the museum. So much to see with the fort, house, barn, and cars. Loved the school set up as well!
Toured this and the house near it. They were fully and beautifully furnished. There was a large carriage house with beautiful vehicles. The icing on the cake was a sweet, loving neighborhood cat that sat on my lap and purred.
The whole experience was great! They welcomed us in, answered any questions, and had great knowledge. Kiddos friendly. Multiple sites on two wonderful properties. I definitely recommend going here.
A very interesting stop to learn about the first family to this area, the lifestyle and a lot.of history surrounding the area
Great source of history, the volunteer was full of information and stories. A great place to take the family or have a picnic. They even have an old electric car, see photos.
All in all a great stop for families and history buffs
Not a traditional army fort. This fort was established to help people settle at the end of the Oregon trail. This was used until the 1850s and turned into a museum by around 1905. A lot to see for $8 dollar, a person.
Interesting small well maintained museum in a former immigrant home. The docent was friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of free parking.
Pretty interesting if you are into pioneer history. No mention of Native American Indians. A log of early vehicles and buildings. It was nice in that it was a self guided and self paced tour. I think it was free with a suggested donation, but very cheap IMO. Great for families I’d imagine.
