Fred Meyer reviews
31 WARNING WARNING WARNING -EMPLOYEES ARE THEIVES- MANAGEMENT DISREGARDS LAW.
Employees at this store have rigged their card machines to say your transaction has been declined while holding your card info in memory so they can fraudulently make cash back transactions after you leave.
2 days ago, I attempted to buy some groceries with my debit card, was repeatedly declined, and so left the store. A few minutes later I received a notification that someone had tried to make my transaction again, only with $200 cash back. Thus was more money than I had, so they tried a few minutes later with $100 cash back. Management at this location is aggressive and dismissive of the law, and their employees are violent criminals, so my only recourse was to cancel my debit card and order a new one.
Reading current reviews clearly this store has issues. On 4/9 I was walking towards the entrance of the store next minute I was knocked flat onto the ground it felt like I was tackled. 3 Loss prevention associates were chasing a shop lifter and he had ran into. In the process my phone got scratched, my glasses got knocked off and my shoulder got injured. Corp did reach out to me and they say its not their fault even though their LP team was chasing someone out the store. I worked retail for yrs it shouldn't have been 3 guys 1 should of already been outside the store and the 2 should of been watching him in store. They have cameras and things should of been handled differently. From my understanding in Oregon they shouldn't have chased him outside the store i will definitely see if i have any case because corp just dismissed the case and said oh well! I will never shop any Fred Meyers again
Went to customer service attempting to cancel a money transfer that hadn’t been picked up yet, and to do so I needed to recover the tracking number. I have all the information regarding the sender (me) and receiver, and I had just talked to a western union representative that instructed me to talk to the associate where I had made the transfer.
The associates at the desk basically just told me there was nothing they could do to help me. They didn’t look on any computer, they didn’t call anyone. Just said “sorry, we can’t recover your tracking number. ”
Normally I would accept that and find another way, except I was just on the phone with a different Fred Meyer location, and that associate told me that they just needed to call western union to initiate a refund.
So I’m not sure if those customer service associates were uninformed or just lazy, but regardless I am beyond irritated at the amount of my time they have wasted simply because they didn’t want to make a phone call
Very bad experience, been shopping there for years. Won't go back! I know co-vid19 is causing problems but when you put in a order for pickup and the earliest I could pick it up was in 7 days, and that was ok, then we get a call saying we have to wait 3 more days, ok we can wait. That's 10 days. Go to pick it up and person on phone was to busy talking to someone else in the background about getting her a lunchable for herself. Asked my name again and said it's not ready, Mary is suppose to call you. Talk to a manager and she was no help said there was nothing she could do. There was no other cars waiting for pickup. So 10 day without groceries forced me to go into a store and risk my safety. Went to Walmart and they were great! Mostly upset how they handled the situation.
Tried to get the advertised 10% off case price for peanut butter for a local food bank. Young "manager" treated me like a criminal: would not sell me 12 jar case equivalents nor get me the requested cases. Embarrassed me by making me wait for the districts number as they dumped my groceries out in front of the other customers. I am a 65 yr old nurse who just wants to help hungry kids and seniors. I left absolutely irate and almost crying. What is wrong with their customer service?
Very unorganized. Mediocre customer service. Usually tons of misplaced items all over the store making it a very unpleasant place to shop. The store layout is very difficult to navigate, random end caps with random items that do not correlate well with the surrounding items. I could not find the simplest of things right down aisles labled with the items I was searching for! I will not be shopping here anymore!
I have been going to this Fred Myers for years, since i was a baby. I love how there is a starbucks there i can sip tea while shop.whenever i cant find my dad i go to the beer section.i get food from here for good reasonable prices!
I always have a good experience at Fred Meyers, they have a good variety to choose from and helpful employees.
Very large and clean store, found Everthing I was looking for, and was pleasantly suprised to see a salad bar which I ate from. Very good.
Since they renovated, they've been systematically discontinuing local quality brands that we love and replacing them with the Kroger brand of the same product. Slowly for about a year now, but they've been getting pretty aggressive with it the last few months. Half of the items we used to go to freddies for are no longer available, so we hit Sellwood New Season or Gladstone Safeway now.
I love this location, because of the staff.
The first day we moved nearby, we stumbled in exhausted looking for a specific kind of energy drink. An extremely nice staff member crossed the store twice to find it for us.
Then today, a little kid was lost. I flagged down a random staff person, and she immediately sat down next to the kid and got him talking to her so she could find his parents.
Every time I go the checkout people are friendly and the shelves are neatly stocked.
The prices aren’t as low as other stores (not quite) but the service is 110%. Range of products impressive for this size of store.
Highly recommend.
Good prices friendly service esp.for a big chain like kroger, it still feels mostly like the freddys i went to as a kid with mom to do the household shopping.
I particularly enjoy shopping at Fred Meyer, and this location is filled with relatively pleasant staff and the same goods that most Fred Meyers have. However the layout of the store is as if you took the most logical and intuitive floor plan and turned it inside out and cut away the electronics department. The kiosk staffed with an employee who seems nice, but that dismissive nice akin to a museum docent on narcotics, found at the main entrance is your only hope of getting in and out without needing to quickly hit the bakery to start a bread crumbs trail to escape. A revamp is needed.
Love this store. One of the best Free Meyers I've been in. Gorgeously lit, great organics section, and you can actually get glasses of wine and beer at their growler station. It was a shock to me however, coming from Multnomah county, to be given plastic bags. But that's just my conditioning.
I was just at the store and was trying to leave out the back door by the garden section. The associate was rude and it's kinda lame I have to walk all the way around the store when it would have taken me 2 seconds to get in my car on the garden side.
WARNING: THESE ARE THEIVES.
When they remodeled they basically ruined the store. The aisles are all too narrow now because they needed more shelf space when they shortened them all, and good luck getting past a stock person or a cart with children in one of these aisles.
This was originally a 3 star… then a 2 star review before they straight up stole money from me today by having incorrect price stickers and refusing to accept returns or modifications on tobacco product reciepts.
Long waits, no help, not much (that is Not on sale) available let alone that which is on sale. Anyone possibly available acts as though they have been sentenced to the slaughter house or a lifetime in hell just to help. Not to mention prices are NEVER correct! Goodness. It's close.
Use this Fred Meyer's more than any other. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Mostly there is a bar inside, really! You can sit down have a beer and watch football or the news.
Nice neighborhood supermarket. Beer, wine & Kombucha tasting bar, recently renovated, friendly staff.
I usually dont do reviews but my girlfriend and i just went food shopping we saved up enough to fill a cart and half another cart. We got to checkstand 6 and the cashier from checkstand 6 and checkstand 7 were makimg fun of how much grociers we had. The girl that was bagging our grociers was rude and throwing them in our cart with no care smashed bread Dented soup cans thats how hard she was throwing them in the cart. Fred meyers has always been good to my family and i but those 3 emoyees are rude disrespectful and should not have there jobs for making us (the CUSTOMERS) feel like we were doing something wrong by buying so many grociers. The manager should be aware of the way there employees treat the customers.
