Knowledgeable and really helpful staff. I appreciate their diligence in assuring they are not accepting stolen goods since at first I was curious why they asked so many personal questions. The transaction went exactly as Bill said it would as I received my check on the exact day he said I should expect it. Totally unrelated to their business practices, I would love to see them remove the suffering plants in the showroom, as it's clear they aren't getting the sun and care they deserve. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for another item to sake or purchase from their great selection of high-end equipment.

UPDATE 2022: Fred’s staff is super helpful and while they know all about high end stereo systems, they do not talk down to those with the less expensive tastes. They spent a lot of time explaining options to get a new amplifier and speakers. They also gave good information on installation approaches which I did myself. This is where we will go if we need additional sound system upgrades.
Original Review 2015: We needed some help repairing and reconfiguring our turntable installation and Fred's staff was very helpful. While there I browsed around and they have some amazing quality of equipment too.

Just a good space with good people. Went in for an obscure part today and although they weren't able to locate it, they spent some time and energy looking (kind of knew it was a longshot). Have had good experiences since the early 2000's here. Highly recommend and nice used section as well.

I can not recommend the sales and service at Fred's enough, Six Stars! I have been a customer for 20 years and never been disappointed. Sales and service has always been completely transparent. If you need or want repairs or modifications done your to a Technics 1200. Brent is your guy! Photo are from two decks that Brent has worked on for me.

I had such a great experience at Fred's. I was interested in upgrading the cartridge on my vintage turntable and found a couple I was interested in online. I called Fred's and they were able to install and align the cartridge with a new head shell for the same price as ordering a mounted head shell online. Ben did the work in an hour and answered all my questions about my turntable. The only question I have now is why I've waited to do this? ! Friendly, knowledgeable staff and now that I'm home with my deck, the work is top notch. Can't recommend them enough.

I cannot recommend Fred’s Sound of Music enough. After an online turntable purchase turned into a nightmare, I reached out about getting a repair. Ben was in contact with me from beginning to end, taking on part of the emotional distress of having such a beautiful piece of audio equipment delivered to me in such terrible condition. Once I was able to bring it in for service, Ben was so helpful in getting every little issue taken care of and getting the turntable in working order for me. He never made me feel stupid or felt the need to over-explain any part of the turntable to me which I appreciated.

I could not be more thrilled with the customer service both via email and while I was in the store. Fred’s has made a lifelong customer out of me. Thank you all so much again.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I got my record player and speakers there. Once I assembled the equipment, I realized the sound was off, so I called them and they quickly resolved my issue completely remotely. Appreciated that they asked me to send pictures, they figured out the mistake I made connecting the audio and walked me thru the steps to fix it.
