Italian Restaurant Giuseppe's reviews
17Slightly dated atmosphere and decor, but comfortable and inviting still. Food was phenomenal and service was top notch. All staff provided friendly interactions.
This was terrible. We got the chicken parm, clam linguine, calamari, cheesy bread and a salad. It was all bad. The meat marinara sauce was tasted like a dollar general off brand jarred sauce, chicken was massacred it was so over cooked, clam sauce was nasty, calamari was soggy… the only thing that was enjoyable was the salad, and it was literally a bagged salad mix with croutons and ranch. I am baffled that they have a 4.3 rating, I really don’t understand how anyone could find this enjoyable.
Got the fettuccine Alfredo. Typically this is an amazing dish. However last week it was very bland and lacked flavor. Noodles cooked perfectly and great portion size. Just lacking some flavor this time. Not sure what happened.
Gluten-free options. I felt confident in asking questions while checking out menu. Waitress told me what was gf offerings.
I had gf spaghetti with the veal marsala & it was fantastic!
Bruh who can mess up salad? The marinara sauce is literally canned spaghetti sauce. The salami on the random plate was blue. The chicken picotta looked like an adult tv dinner. Overall food is nasty but the waitress was nice. They need to rethink charging so much for something you pop in the oven out of the freezer.
My husband has been to your establishment a few times and he decided that I should try this restaurant. I must say that the food did not disappoint! We ordered a small pizza and wowza! The pizza was huge! We ate a few pieces each and still had a doggie bag! The server (Tracie) was beyond accommodating in answering all of my questions and was very cheerful and made the dining experience a delight!
We will definitely be back and probably often!
During our second visit to Giuseppe's, my wife and I were once again treated to an exceptional dining experience. From the moment we were seated, the attentive staff made us feel welcomed and valued. As a delightful surprise, we were presented with a complimentary appetizer—a delectable platter featuring slices of peperoncini pepperoni, salami, and a variety of cheeses. This thoughtful gesture set the tone for the evening, demonstrating the restaurant's commitment to impeccable hospitality.
For our main course, we both opted for our favorite dish—the Gnocchi. These tender potato pasta pillows, masterfully prepared and infused with savory Romano cheese, were generously smothered in a rich and flavorful meat sauce. Each bite was a harmonious blend of creamy textures and robust flavors, leaving us craving more.
Aside from the delightful culinary experience, Giuseppe's impressed us with its spacious parking facilities. As we entered, we noticed ample parking spaces, including designated areas for wheelchair accessibility, ensuring a hassle-free visit.
Throughout our meal, the staff exhibited professionalism and efficiency, attending to our needs promptly and attentively. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to provide recommendations added to the overall enjoyment of our dining experience.
Giuseppe's commitment to fair and reasonable pricing further enhanced our satisfaction. We appreciated the excellent value we received for the quality of the food and service.
In conclusion, Giuseppe's remains a top-notch dining destination that consistently delivers exceptional cuisine and warm hospitality. With its attention to detail, delightful flavors, and welcoming atmosphere, it's no wonder that we wholeheartedly recommend Giuseppe's to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.
Finest Italian food in Gresham. Pizza is top notch, try the house special. Big portions. Love this place!
This was hands down the worst food I’ve eaten at a restaurant in Portland. We left the majority of our food on the table. I don’t know what the chicken piccata was, but it was…not chicken piccata. It tasted like dehydrated cat food pate in a sour tomato base. Headed home to heat up some Dino Nuggies and cry over spending $70. The Italian sodas were good, and the waitress was nice.
This was the worst food experience I've had in Portland so far. I came here looking for Chicken Marsala, one of my favorite dishes (for the record I tried 3 other restaurants with chx marsala afterwards and none of them hit the authentic mark so youre better off making it at home). To start the antipasto was just sad, more like an adult Lunchables. The Chicken Marsala itself was unlike any I've ever seen, and not in a good way. Tbh I'm still confused.maybe they just messed up the recipe this one time? It looked and tasted like it was red sauce/tomato based. When I brought this up with the bartender he said it was the paprika in the recipe. Must've been an insane amount of paprika. And also, since when is paprika an ingredient in Chicken Marsala? Anyway.
The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is because the bartender addressed my concern and removed it from the bill and got me more spaghetti in tomato sauce as a replacement. I still left starving and made food at home.
Very very delicious food
Prices are a bit spendy
But that is easily offset by the atmosphere and quality of service
The pizza is out of this world
Especially the crust
I myself usually get the gnocchi with chicken and cream sauce
If going the pizza route I do a pepperoni
But anything will come out amazing you will definitely leave happy and very full
Pretty much the only Italian restaurant in Portland that has stood out. Their pizza is also very excellent.
I have no idea how this restaurant has four stars. Maybe the ambiance is the reason because it isn't the food. My food was delivered. The chicken marsala which is supposed to be tender chicken cutlets with beautiful sauteed mushrooms in a marsala wine sauce was chunks of chicken with - I venture to say canned mushrooms in a greasy wine sauce. The side of spaghetti. My gawd. The noodles have been cooked to death. And I don't even know what seasonings are necessary on garlic bread. But stop. Just garlic and bread would be a major improvement here. Really wanted to treat myself now. I really wish I would have ordered at Olive Garden. $35 down the tube because this is inedible.
The wait time was horrible we waited 20 mins just for our drinks. The waitress was nice but they were understaffed. But the food was absolutely horrible. This has to be the worst food we’ve ever eaten. The owner offered us a free pizza we left the coupon the food was bad even free I wouldn’t have eat it again! It made all of us horribly sick, it was just cheese and grease.

Anyone leaving 5 stars on this review is not familiar with Italian food.
I paid $30 for shrimp Alfredo. It came with a salad. The salad came right out of a bag from a grocery store that basically had iceberg lettuce in it, and they threw some croutons on the top. When I told the waitress that was the worst salad I'd ever had she snipped back "good thing it's not a salad restaurant. "
The sauce to the Alfredo was decent enough but the shrimp was undercooked and tasted moldy. The garlic bread was horrible.it was not crisp, it was not garlicky and it wasn't even really cooked.it was the worst bread I've ever eaten. I took 2 bites and put it back on the plate.
Service was basic at best and yet they put a 20% automatic tip on my check.
I will not be going back to this restaurant ever.
They have a great variety. I personally LOVE the spaghetti with meat sauce and extra bread
Giuseppe was a lot of fun, great food! We had the meat balls in marinara sauce, beef and cheese ravioli, 1 pizza combo, it was all amazing. Service was great, she was very attentive and super friendly. 5 stars from a table of 8
