Golf Galaxy, Portland OR

Went in to look at a few items with my 8 year old son. Walked by the hitting bays and my son got excited and wanted to swing a club. We putt around on the course and I take him golfing with me fairly often, so I’m ecstatic he wants to swing a club and get into the sport. I go to the shelf of clubs they have nearby for hitting and grab the ugliest club I can find, mind you, they’re all pretty beat up clubs to begin with. After one swing, a crabby older gentlemen working there approaches and condescendingly says “can you have him do that with one of your Clubs? He could damage the club. ”

1: there’s better ways to ask than be a complete jerk
2: the club was already in garbage condition
3: why ask an intentionally rude question knowing I didn’t go into golf galaxy with my clubs?
4: why shut down an 8 year old who’s excited to swing a club. His 10mph swing speed won’t make your trash, already damaged clubs any worse.

People like him are who turn people away from an awesome sport and leave a salty taste in the mouth for the perception of golfers. Learn some customer service, learn to be excited for people wanting to play, and promote positivity… you will go much further. Was going in there to buy a few things, but walked right out afterward. I wish I would’ve got his name so maybe he can look in the mirror one day.

I started playing in May and this has been the store I've just started going. The guys here have been amazing. I'm tattooed head, neck, face and hands which kinda makes me not look so much like a golfer. The guys here have treated me with respect and kindness. Have stopped me from buying 400 dollar drivers and recommending lessons that I didn't get there (Camas Meadows by Ozzie). I did get my irons and a hybrid and again helped me with what they have in lefty. I did find a driver on marketplace and when I came in with with it and a different shaft to change it out, again they helped me. Freaking Steven who does the work on clubs is a Rockstar! Bro, I was so blown away by your help. I feel bad about not remembering the other guys names but couple older gentlemen spent lots of time with me in club choice. Another guy who is shorter with blondish hair and beard was another Rockstar guy who again spent 30 mins with me helping and giving advice. Most trips I've not bought anything and I've always been treated extremely well considering I look like a convict. Big thank you to the boys at Cascade Golf Galaxy. -Cheers

I went in there to buy a driver and putter. I was excited. This is an hour away from where I live. I don't know much about golf, but was prepared to spend $1k. I have a beginner set, and am wanting to make a couple upgrades. Most of the service staff were huddled near the virtual golf bay. I tried twice to get help and my girlfriend tried once. More interested in virtual golf then helping.

Unfriendly staff. They don't have any responsibility to sell something. I felt they just stood there for the time. After that I went to Parwestgolf, support local store, even better staff and they know what's going on.

We’ve been in multiple times lately upgrading my husbands set of clubs. First couple times we were helped by Dave and today was Austin. Both wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable men. Great customer service and they have a great selection. Thank you guys

Not sure about the negative reviews, I dealt with four different associates for $25 worth of purchases. Re-gripped my driver and sold me a used head cover, under 10 minutes. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable.

I went in here to buy a full set of woods and the salesperson couldn’t have been more arrogant about what I wanted. I was looking at the Calloway Mavriks: “that’s two-year old technology”. He could have sold me $800.00 worth of clubs but I wasn’t worth his time.
