Gonyea's Marine Services, Gresham OR

I have taken my boat to Gonyea's a couple times now and am very happy with Dave's work. He is very knowledgeable about boats and motors. His work is top notch and his prices are are very fair. I will continue to take my boat to Gonyea's and recommend his business if you need work done on a boat.

After using Gonyea's for about 5 years for both winterization and summer tuneups, I called and asked about getting my trailer brakes checked and I had a trailer bunk come off at the dock. I was told “bunks and brakes, two grand” with somewhat of a snicker. I said “ are you serious? ” and he repeated “bunks and brakes, two grand. ” This was following the previous de-winterization when he said repeatedly that he needed to charge more for his services. So, after several years of patronage, I went elsewhere. I’ve been going to Active Water Sports in Oregon City and have never had this kind of interaction. At AWS I get accurate and reasonable quotes on service and they usually end up charging less than their quote.

They were very accommodating in getting me in quickly. The work I requested was done within one day. I was very pleased.

Fantastic shop! Been going here for 2 years with my 1993 Moomba Boomerang. Has her running like a top. Better than when I bought it in 2001. Thanks Dave and team! Highly recommended shop! Worth the drive from Portland. Dave is super knowledgeable and the best mechanic in the area for direct drive boats. Period.

Top notch. They took care of the issues and found others and took care of those too. Been shopping around for a new boat mechanic and I found it. On top of the great service, they also work on boat trailers too, which is rare.

Dave's a solid business man he took our newly bought baja caliber 22ft with 75 hrs
He was brutally honest and took the project. Manifold was resurfaced and made all adjustments to the carburetor. Summer maintenance and made the boat right.we took it out April the one day it didn't rain down fo the Columbia and and without failure the boat performed flawless, 454 big block that is scary fast he put the confidence in his work and will tell everyone to go without price surfing, he is worth all and then some. We own act plumbing inc and are familiar with offering a service that needs to be charged according to case by case jobs. We well always take our hard earned investment's to professionals like Dave.

My family and some friends have been going to Gonyea's with their boats for years and have never been disappointed with the quality of service given. The owner is the best mechanic I've ever met. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else.

GONYEA S MARINE SERVICE IS A
SCAMMER and UNPROFESSIONAL, I would like to share my bad experience with this shop. My outboard Mercury 115 HP EFI 2013 has a stalling issue, David (owner) charged me 686.88 dollars for the first time to replace O ring on fuel pump, when I went home to test my boat, the boat engine had the same problem, I bring back my boat to the shop for THE SECOND TIME, David charged me again for 709.84 dollars for shift sensor, i went home I tested my boat again, the engine had the same issue, look like he did not do nothing on my boat, I bring my boat back to his shop for THE THIRD TIME, he told me my boat, needs to replace fuel pump unit for 1200 dollars, a week later, he told me to come to his shop to pick up my boat, and he said my boat got fix and engine runs perfect now, I went home to test my boat, the engine ran for 1 min and stopped suddenly and unable to start the engine, I spent for 2596.73 dollars for NOTHING, and the engine status is worst than before FYI.in response to your answer, can you please show me all parts that you replaced on my boat, and the all papers that you ordered parts with dates, customer have the right to request, show me your honesty David.

After 25 years of owning a boat I finally found a great mechanic. Dave takes a lot of pride in fixing problems correctly. Most places just throw parts at a problem. I went to two other places and they could not fix or find an issue. Dave stuck with it and corrected the issue. Great value for the dollar. The boat runs great! My only problem is not finding him sooner! I highly recommend taking your boat here for service.

Just had my 3rd experience with Gonyea's in the last 6 months. All 3 times with the same exceptional level of service, in a very timely manner. I will continue to make a much longer drive past several of the "big" service shops for the personnel service and attention to detail at Gonyea's.

Not recommend, wouldn't take my boat here even if he paid me. Very unprofessional and arrogant attitude

I got a bad starter, and brought the boat in for repair. He fixed my boat in 1 hour, after I called him. All I can say: "He's the best" Thanks Dave!

Simply called to ask ifthey could take a look at my boat because of a ignition problem. Before I could even say what the problem was there was a very sharp NO response. Probably the most rude customer service I have ever experienced. Will NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone I know.

I was in a pinch and Gonyea's saved me. My boat broke on a Saturday on the Columbia, I had a family vacation that I was leaving for on Tuesday, after calling several repairs places Monday AM that could not get me in for months I called Dave at Gonyea's, I was a 1st time customer. Dave told me to bring it in, dropped the boat off at 7: 45 and he had it up and running by noon, with new parts that were needed from across the town. The boat worked great and the vacation was awesome. Thanks Dave.by the way appreciate your humor also. I will be going back.

No bs, straight to the point. Told me what was wrong with my MC and what needed to be looked out for. Very quick turn around time and great job. Dave knows what’s up!
