Grateful Heart Veterinary Hospital, Portland OR

This clinic took care of my Koda to the end. Amazing touch, all of it. 6 months later, I bought a pup, 8 weeks old. When he's here next week, he goes right to GHVH. I want his care top date and with such kind group!

We had a great experience bringing our new rescue dog to establish care, and have also already had an urgent visit (unfortunately) and were very happy with how that went, too! The vet hospital staff are wonderful and they follow up and check in after visits to ensure everything is going OK. We got super helpful resources from both visits. We saw Dr. Sarah Pavlich, who was kind, skilled, and very helpful.

Just moved to Portland and was referred to this place on Next Door since it’s so close to where I live. Very friendly and warm staff and super helpful with their new patient my kitty. Would highly recommend.

Difficult to get appointments. Our dog caught fleas there which has led to additional appointments, treatments and cost. Suggested using GoodRx to save money on medication but didn't have the required information necessary to process through them at the pharmacy.

We liked how kind they are over at Grateful Heart. From the time we called to make the appointment to the after-appointment follow-up, the staff and doctors were very sweet and kind. Why not 5 stars?
We felt that we were at a car dealership at times during the visit, and when we got the email with all the test results we got extremely worried and I even broke down in tears. The doctor sent all those test results, but not an explanation of what they meant, and to top that off she said that if we wanted to talk about the results we can call her later on the week (she meant Wednesday) but we got that email on Saturday. I mean, how can we not go crazy until then? I called the practice and I was told that there was only one doctor in that day and that she was super busy and most likely won't be getting back to me that day.
The doctor did get back to me at some point that day. She was lovely and apologetic, and she went over the test results with us. She was able to give us that peace of mind I had lost with the initial email. Going forward I hope they try to "sell" less as we felt some pressure, and the emails with test results come with an explanation.
I will update this review if we feel those issues have been resolved.

This is a fantastic vet office. The entire staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all animals. The Vets are knowledgeable and compassionate to my cats. I will bring all of my pets here and I recommend you do too

Our pups were both overdue for health checks this year. We are new to Portland and this needed to find a new vet (a daunting task if you loved your last place, which we did!). They were so friendly and helpful here. They genuinely care about yours and your pets experience. Good advice, reasonable price, and great location for us.

Grateful Heart is the best veterinary office I've ever been to. They are kind, caring, understanding, and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend this vet enough.

We are always so happy to go to the vet. Dr. Felton is so kind and thoughtful. She always takes time with us and is helpful at answering all of our questions. All the other staff has been nothing but patient and kind as well. I know their jobs are challenging at times so we appreciate it!

Dr. Felton has been the most incredible veterinarian that we have ever worked with!

My wife and I have adopted dogs for quite some time and Dr. Felton has been there to give them the best care and quality of life possible.

Grateful Heart has exceeded my expectations in how comprehensive and compassionate a vet can be. Dr. Felton treats my cat like her own and has led us through some health scares with grace and care. Couldn't recommend enough!

I love this place! The vets are compassionate and gentle with my anxious senior cat. They are willing to do all the preventative care and testing that will benefit her health, but I never felt like anything was getting pushed on me. They listen to all my questions and are so attentive and patient.

Dr. Felton is the only vet I feel comfortable and trust to take care of my cat. She’s been taking care of him for 4 years now. The entire crew is helpful and nice, they try to help by phone and email any time you need. This clinic offers the type of friendly service that I didn’t find anywhere else in Portland - and if you’re an extra careful or picky pet owner, you’ll be happy with them!

Cannot say enough wonderful things about the crew here. We drive over an hour and a half passing dozens of closer vets to bring our fur babies here if that tells you anything. Dr. Felton is so compassionate and patient and takes the time to answer questions and concerns, I trust her and the entire staff at Grateful Heart with the care of my pets. It is clear they all care about animals here. They treat my hyper dog Pantera very kindly. We just rescued another dog and you bet we will be bringing her to see Dr. Felton!

From the first email response, Alex made me and my pup feel like we were one of the GH family. During our appointment with Dr. Felton we received valuable information and answers to our questions. I cannot begin to express how wonderful Grateful Heart is. After moving 3,500 milestone Portland with our two miniature schnauzers, one that is blind, we were anxious to find a vet they would feel comfortable at. From our first appointment (pre-COVID) Dr Katy sat in the floor to meet them and gave them toys to take home. I knew this was a special place right from the get go. Both of our dogs were obsessed with going here and would howl in excitement if they knew that is where they were headed.

Sadly, our little guy developed aggressive lymphoma and had to go to forever sleep earlier this month. Dr Katy and Mr Alex made us feel like family and took the time to make our little guys going away a special occasion and were just as heartbroken as we were. As hard as it has been without him here we’re glad he got to spend his final moments here as he loved them. Several days after his passing we received a sympathy card which really hit home and shows just how much the staff here cares.

We cannot recommend Grateful Heart enough. Here your pets are more than furry friends, they’re family.

Dr. Felton is a caring and compassionate vet. She always takes the time to make my dog and cat comfortable and to make sure I am well informed on treatment options.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had! From drop off to pick up I knew my 12 yr old pup was in good hands! Dr Felton called me to explain his “nose to toes” check up. She took her time with answering my questions and I never felt rushed to get off the phone. She even said, “I feel like I’m talking your ear off. ” What a great feeling! Maria was even able to clip his nails NOT under sedation. That has never happened! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Amazing first experience for our 2 OHS rescue kitties, Echo and Jasper. Dr. Felton and the whole staff were nothing but wonderful from the moment we booked our appointment. From the time Alex took on the confirmation phone call explaining their offices and current COVID-19 appointment protocol, to the no contact appointment drop off/pick up/payment with Stephanie and DeeDee, to the 45 minute conversation with Dr. Felton about the full exam - I could not recommend more! I don't have much reference for vet prices as the Grateful Heart office is our first vet experience in the area but I wasn't at all surprised by the invoice amount if that is reassuring? Feel lucky to have found this office and their amazing team!
