H Mart Belmont reviews
16The store is smaller than the Other H Mart within a relative distance by far. It also has one of the worst parking garages in the Portland area. Just park on the street.
HR is one of my favorite markets to buy fresh seafood and I come here on the regular and I’m was so excited to see that they now have Live King Crabs!
I can’t afford to buy any right now, but they sure are pretty to look at along with all of my other favorites that they have ready to eat right now!
Is fall, and I love persimmon and can eat at least wanted to a day and I love stocking up on them so, they have them here for a great price!
I really enjoy shopping there because I could buy some traditional Asian Ingredients easily.
Whenever I need a stalk of lemongrass, fresh horseradish, rice, chili oil, fresh clams, and other wide ranges of ingredients, this is the place.
Great selection of Asian food and fresh vegetables. You can also get Ota tofu which is amazing!
Love their warm freshly made food. They have a variety of items to choose from and it’s always in stock when I visit. They have a great selection of frozen and fresh items as well, my go to for frozen bao and dumplings!
HMart is clean and generally well stocked. It has a variety of Asian foods and goods, but primarily Korean (Korean chain store). I haven’t found the staff to be neither friendly nor helpful, hence the 4 stars. The tip jar at the cashier’s station, when they don’t even bag for us, was ridiculous. Am I tipping the cashier for swiping my purchases? Tipping culture is out of control.
Such a great addition to this area. Large selection of items, both in the center store and at the deli. I have yet to try the small restaurant but if it's as good as the deli, I'll be super happy, especially since they offer ramen.
And the smell! I don't know why it is, but all of the Asian grocery stores I've shopped in (stateside and abroad) have the same smell.and I love it, but it's difficult to describe.
If you love Asian food, beverages, and other trinkets, I highly recommend visiting.
If you're unsure, it's time to step outside your comfort zone.
The best H mart in portland! The staff is friendly and the fish always looks so fresh.they have a variety of snacks and noodles.the veggies are also fresh and are always a good price.
So incredible to have an H Mart in Portland! I just wish I lived closer. They have everything and then some.
Cashiers aren't super friendly but that adds to the authentic experience of an asian grocery store. Has a limited selection of foods (compared to say, Uwajimaya) and hard to find certain items.
Frozen section is bangin! Still out of sriracha but lots of appealing alternatives. Best price for crunchy garlic chili oil.
I LOVE HMART.
The best produce & fried tofu.
I was even able to score sriracha, which I haven’t been able to buy in a few years thanks to this planet destruction.
I nearly always get a rude cashier, but that’s okay, because the cool ones make up for it.
My advice, bring your own bags and pack them fast, because you will get all of your groceries piled up on the bagging side - be expected to pay while the cashier stands there doing nothing to help you, and the second your receipt prints they are throwing the next person in line’s groceries on top of yours for them to then bag up (this even happens while they aren’t busy at all)
This is not the best Hmart but it is helpful when you need Korean ingredients. I used to get Korean pastries here and then encountered one spoiled one which turned me off from purchasing anymore of them. It is a mixed bag of outcome here.
The new Asian grocery in SE Portland, convenient location, just not enough parking space. Don't even try their underground parking, there are only few spots reserved for shoppers and very tight. As far as items, they are little more expensive than other Asian groceries. They have a kitchen where you can buy your sushi lunch and other exotic Asian food. My kids love to run to the live crab tank.
