Ive never lived here but I did schedule a tour I got stood up for. I called and made the appointment the week prior then upon arriving for our scheduled tour we found the office closed. We emailed and called with no responses even a week later… seems very unprofessional and its clear they are not interested in filling their open units

Ms Rathka has done an excellent job with the resources she has had to get all repairs done. The previous review was in no way meant to be anything negative toward her or management. I understand that it has been extremely difficult to find a permanent maintenance person to do the repairs. Hard to get repairs done when there is no one to do them. That should not reflect poorly on Ms Rathka. Now that a permanent maintenance person has been hired I'm sure any necessary repairs will be done in a timely manner. One other note, the reason I chose The Habitat was because of Ms Rathka. Her warmth, friendliness and willingness to listen was so refreshing from other the places I had visited. Because of her, this is where I wanted to be.

We found a quiet, comfortable place to call home in a beautiful setting. Multiple ownership changes over the five years we've lived here have culminated in a management company far more concerned with their bottom line than the upkeep of the property or the tenants who live here.

After three years of normal interaction with the assorted property managers, our requests for maintenance became contentious with the current owners and the property manager they hired. This on-site property manager has procrastinated repairs, lied to our faces about having completed the repair or communicated legally required information, intentionally misconstrued our requests, and levied illegal fines on us and other tenants.

They attempted to make me sign an NDA (!) saying I would not talk to other tenants about one of our repair solutions. Such a request violates my rights to discuss or form a tenants union. I did not sign their NDA, but you can bet I kept a copy.

Now I double-document every single request for maintenance, often citing the law that requires that maintenance to be completed. We are currently waiting for them to repair a gutter that was irrevocably bent in a storm three weeks ago that causes water to pour off the roof onto our porch and all our outdoor belongings. Sidewalk leading to parking lot is directly under a waterfall from the gutter. It will probably be several more months before they make the repair. ED: 8/6/22 Update: STILL NO REPAIR, but they claim on the maintenance portal that the work has been completed. ED: 1/20/23 Gutters were "patched, " and now they pour over the edge of the patches. STILL NO PERMANENT REPAIR, and zero response to requests on maintenance portal or emails. Have copied local corporate rep as well, also to no avail.
ED: 8/4/23 local corporate rep now actively in communication, claims the gutter will be replaced mid-August. Will update as to completion.

I love my apartment for its seclusion, accessibility, and bucolic setting so close to the city. While I have loved previous property managers here, I do not love our current property manager or the company.

The worse costumer service manny time I asked for my bill and I couldn’t get it in spain u can collets part of u taxes is the law but how can I collect it if I don’t have the bill today is alm a month and still NOTHING NORMAL HOTELS AS SOON U LEAVE U GET U BILL THE MILLIONS DOLLARS QUESTION WHY THEY DO THAT NOW HOW CAN I COLLECT MY TAX FREE DONT RENT HERE AT ALL NEVER EVER AGAIN

Not a bad place to live, until we moved out.

Landlord claims we never paid our security deposit, so they are demanding money from me to pay for the move out costs.

Update: they still haven’t provided me with my security deposit.

I wouldn’t normally fill this out but Habitat reached out asking how they’re doing so…my experience has not been ideal. I’ve had a broken heater. I submitted a maintenance request on 11/28 with no response. No response to follow up messages. I spent the coldest part of winter with no heat.
