Harbor Freight Tools reviews
19The remodel was unnecessary. Having to rememorize were everything was replaced made my day longer instead of in and out. If it ain't broke dont fix it. NoPo is famous for history.
Spent $1000 no customer service unless you call a security guard following you asking if you're finding everything alright.
Minus the security guards (sitting on a check out counter talking about killing?) the staff was amazing!
I flipping love this place!
Maybe it's the area, but it felt like military police presence inside the store. Not useful when you're looking for something in particular and all they want to do is follow you around as if you're stealing something.
Storw was recently reorganized with several new tool brands. Never know what you'll find, & they tell you how to use it.
I bought 3 QUANTUM 3 CELL flashlights here for my family members for Christmas last year and they are the brightest most durable flash lights that i
We have ever owned.
Jeff the manager was super helpful and wasn’t condescending and didn’t make me feel embarrassed about not knowing anything about what I needed/got. Super important for me! Will come back here for sure.:)
I go out of my way to go to this Harbor Freight even though I live in Vancouver, always a good experience. The security guard there today was cool af, greeted me when I walked in and called me “brother” on the way out. Kinda nice cuz I’m brown. Not used to that sh*t.
Addicting. Applied for a job there. The hiring process makes you feel exactly that. Processed. Exactly zero human interaction. It is disturbing.
Harbor Freight has good prices. This is not in the best neighborhood, Like armed security at the door kind of neighborhood but the store itself is a smaller Harbor Freight. But they still seemed to have everything.
The people/staff was over the top AMAZING, HAPPY AND HELPFUL. I live in Vancouver but would/will drive to this location for my shopping.
My Rottweiler (my social butterfly) even got to make a new friend with the gentleman that brought out my big item and loaded it into my vehicle.
Thanks you guys! ️
This review is not a reflection of HF, but the state of Portland in general. HF is great if you want direct-from-china tools that do not last. Though there are some real gems at HF if you know what to look for.
I love Harbor Freight, for me it's 5 stars, but I realize for some it's hit or miss. Some items are really cheap and no good, even at low low prices And then other items are so amazing for the price that it keeps you coming back over and over. The key is to look for coupons and read reviews for items online and on YouTube. For me things like electrical tape have turned into more of a mess than it's worth, but $1.00 C-clamps have been life savers. $4 plastic covered gloves! And my favorite purchase of all time is a $100 automatic drain auger, so cool and works so well and saved me hundreds that I would have spent on a plumber. And HF newer battery powered tools are way better than they were 10 years ago. Go to HF and look around, I guarantee you'll find hardware you need, and at excellent prices.
I always appreciate the low prices for tools that may not get a lot of use. They have some great deals and I only regret one item I've ever bought there.
The only reason anyone buys the garbage tools at harbor frieght was because of the 20% coupon! Now they say they automatically included the price drop. Lol lol lol. Anyone with half a brain knows that means they just inflated all the prices.
Harbor freight has come a long ways since the doors initially opened in Portland. I try to do the majority of my tool needs shopping at harbor freight. They have really improved most of their high end items arc welders and so on that outperform the other name brands such as Lincoln and so on. My kind of store never a problem on returns. I'm speaking of the store on North Mason and North Portland. JP
Staff person was very helpful, yet not enough staff avail on the floor caused a long wait to get assistance finding items
Worst customer service I've received in a harbor freight store and rude employees to boot would travel to another store 15 miles away just to be treated with respect
Good prices. I like wrenches and other tools and accessories here. Good value on those. Cheap power tools like cordless drills are hit and miss. I've found that the batteries fail regularly. I would still buy them because it is still more cost effective than buying more expensive models. Just go in knowing that they won't last. Helpful staff, clean store though. Call the store before going on a holiday. Closures don't seem to be posted online.
