Henry Higgins Boiled Bagels reviews
17We liked our bagels (with salmon), but found it quite expensive ($16 / bagel)! But overall it was a nice experience!
Bagel dogs were out so this world, and the salmon cream cheese was phenomenal. Wasn’t the *biggest* fan of their eggs- ended up pretty dry…. However that absolutely did not stop me from devouring the whole thing or wanting to go there again soooo…. Solid 4 stars haha
I got a toasted blueberry bagel with honey almond cream cheese, and it warm and gooey and delicious. The outside of the bagel was satisfyingly chewy. Service was very fast.
The bagels and flavored shmear here are soooo good. They also have some pretty fantastic sandwiches and even a bagel dog (you gotta try it once). Friendly staff — highly recommend.
West coast bagels are not east coast bagels, but of the locally made west coast bagels on offer in Portland, these are some of the best, for my money. They sell out every day so go early if you must have a specific kind.
Good vegan bagels, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere. One suggestion would be to add vegan eggs (like Just Egg) but glad they have vegan patty & cheese
I'm not often compelled to leave negative reviews, but I was pretty disappointed with these bagels.
They were way too pricey for being mediocre to bad quality bagels. Each individual bagel was $1.75.
I paid $8.50 for a ham and cheese sandwich on a bagel. The onion bits baked into the bagel were burnt to the point I had to scrape it all off. I'm not a fan of bitter burn flavor, but maybe that's just me. I believe it was only burnt because they toasted the sandwich, so at least it didn't come out of the oven that way.
Although they advertise as "boiled bagels" they didn't have any micro-blister that I could find.
So this place really wasn't worth the expense.
Everything bagel w honey almond cream cheese or jalapeño anything. Best ever! And kindest staff
A cute little shop that had a constant stream of customers while we were there. They misunderstood my friend's order, so he was a bit bummed, but my order was accurate and delicious!
I’ve been having lunch here multiple times a week now for the past 6 months. Great bagels, great people. Fast service.
Service was okay and the bagels were pretty good. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat there again but wouldn't be opposed it I was in the area.
I love the Hank's Harvest sandwich (I add cucumber and avocado if I'm feeling fancy)!
Amazing quality bagels! The breakfast bagels have tons of eggs and their bagel are fresh! Their prices are reasonable although some of their bagel sandwiches can be pricey. I’d recommend checking this place out!
Meh. So so bagels. Usually rock hard in a day. Actually they start kind of hard and chewy.
Avoid.
These are the best bagels we’ve had in Portland. The drip coffee here is literally undrinkable weak tea colored water. I cannot repeat it enough: eat their bagels, like all of their bagels, avoid their coffee, seriously don’t get it backward, this is important.
We moved here from Brooklyn, these are a great substitute. God I hate their drip coffee.
Placed an online pickup order for two toasted bagels, cream cheese, and a couple of cold toppings. Only after ordering did I find out that it would take 25 minutes.
I was right next door, so I immediately walked in and asked if that time was accurate since I had another commitment I had to get to. The cashier said “It’s going to be a while. ” I said ok, but how long. They repeated “a while. ” For my third time asking how long it would take, I realized I apparently needed to be more specific and ask for a specific measurement of time. I was told it would take 15 minutes.
Ok, I asked to cancel the order then. I had another commitment and I could just grab something to eat somewhere else. The cashier said they could rush my order and I said ok.
I then proceeded to wait—you guessed it—25 minutes for my order. When I said if my order wasn’t done, to cancel my order, the cashier then noticed that my order was finished.
First, as someone from New York, if it’s taking you 25 minutes to prep two bagels, you’re doing something wrong—I don’t care how slammed you are. Second, if I ask how long it’s going to take because I have somewhere I need to be, give me an actual ballpark. Third, if I say that I need to cancel my order because it’s going to take too long, then just cancel my order. I wouldn’t have been mad or anything—I just didn’t have time. Instead, you just made the situation worse by trying to keep my sale. You hadn’t even started my stuff yet.
Not exactly like the bagels from the northeast in a Jewish deli but decent for Portland. Nothing special but not the worst bagel I’ve had.
The smoked salmon is hot smoked, not cold smoked like lox. Their lox and whitefish are from Acme in NY so very salty. The prices are high for Portland.
Like that they have Dr Browns sodas and at least half of the customers wore masks while ordering to go.
