High Low Art Space reviews
14My partner and I took a Color Theory class with Ryan. We both came in with zero oil painting experience (and even less art experience for me), but Ryan had us mixing up our own colors in no time. Fortunately for us, Ryan is patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. We both look forward to taking more classes here in the future!
Took the color theory class with Ryan and it was awesome! Ryan is an excellent educator, and the class is thoughtfully designed. I learned a ton. It was a supportive and encouraging environment to learn in. Excited to take another class hopefully soon!
I would recommend taking classes at the High Low Art Space. I was apprehensive about returning to art classes as an adult. But from the beginning of my first drawing class with Maeve, I felt at ease. I have taken classes with all of the instructors, including oil painting with Ryan and charcoal drawing with Chaitanya, and they are all great at making me feel at ease while helping me develop my artistic abilities. I really enjoy and value the one-on-one tutoring I receive during each session, as well as how the instructors demonstrate the art we will be creating. I enjoyed taking drawing classes with live models because I was challenged to perform at a higher level because I was so immersed in the moment. Consider enrolling in classes at High Low Art Space if you are interested in developing your artistic skills in a fun environment with talented people.
High Low is such an uplifting and supportive space for all artistic levels. The instructors are immensely talented and able to instruct while encouraging the creativity of the students. They are young and tireless.
I've been taking drawing classes at this spot for over a year now. The three teachers who run this place are massively talented, kindhearted people who care about High Low and its growing community.
There is a huge variety of abilities, backgrounds, and age in the student body and zero pressure to be "the best. " I've met so many students who are new to this as well as those who are continuing their education.
The teachers are genuinely invested in creating a grounded, informative, affordable, and fun environment to learn in. There is drop in figure drawing every Thursday, long pose class and a short pose class. Workshops are also offered here and there.
I've taken 2 classes here and have been to many of the Thursday open life drawing sessions and always have a great time. Chay is a great teacher and does an amazing job walking around the room and providing individualized feedback.
I have taken classes from both Maeve and Ryan at High Low Art Space & I absolutely enjoyed my time in class. They’re both incredibly talented.
I am so grateful to have found High Low Art Space. I have studied for two semester with Ryan and my skills have grown, I'm learning so much. The setting is warm, friendly, supportive, creative, and there is ample individual attention. Love it!
Ryan is the best! He’s a genuinely positive person and is very encouraging, I cannot recommend his oil painting class enough. I knew nothing going in - it was my first art class as an adult and a completely new medium. Class always flew by and I always learned a lot. 10/10 - will be taking more classes here. Thanks so much!
Great classes! The artists here are very talented. I also love the drop in life drawing sessions. It's a very fair price of $10 each figure drawing session. They host both a long pose and a short pose sessions on Thursdays.
Great space and environment to learn. I got a lot of good info from Maeve. Both lectures and one on one time were helpful.
Recently took my first class at High Low and really enjoyed it. Maeve is a knowledgable, encouraging instructor and the space is friendly, open and inclusive. I could see huge progress from the beginning and end of class. I signed up for another before my first was even done. Excited to take more classes here!
I really enjoyed Maeve’s intro to structural drawing class. She is a great teacher and is also kind and has a sense of humor. The course is structured such that each class builds on the next in way that helped me understand and practice the concepts. Highly recommend!
