Hillsboro Ace Hardware reviews
15Difficult to find things and when i tried to get workers attention and got ignored and pased by for someone who wasnt even asking for help
Ace, is a great place to find some durable hardware for your house or other projects you are working on. I was surprised to find other items other than hardware and machinery and stuff like that, they carry a variety of different household And outdoor items.
10/1/23 is the last time I come here. While checking out the man in front of me questioned the price as the display had it on sale. The girl at the register called to the floor to check and the guy working the floor confirmed it was on sale. The girl at the register proceeded to lecture him about how he needs to inform her when something is on sale and the price doesn't up date itself. He simply told her he did not know either and went back to work. I was actually shocked at how rude she was to her coworker. When I went to check out I placed the items on the counter and she looks at me and asks how much they are. I told her I just grabbed what I needed and didn't pay attention to the price. Guess what, she proceeds to lecture me about how she can't charge me if I don't know the price. How can she know what to put in, I simply replied with, ok we'll go somewhere else. The look on her face when I said it was priceless. ACE, you lost a customer based on how rude you girl at the register was to everyone I saw her speak to. I'll never be back.
Love the selection of nuts bolts and screws and that I can buy 1 or 2 instead of a full package
A much bigger store than I'm used to wit Ace. I haven't "put them to the test" as far as always having exactly what I need, but they DID have the spray paint I wanted when nobody else did - including the Ace I normally shop at.
Ace is the place. Always helpful and can point you to the right place to find what you need. Store is well laid out, tons of inventory.
Had 1 exact pulley that goes on a system that rotates 4 headlights that will spin around along with the ridable contraption that has twin motors at each end with separate 0 steer drive wheels which will be seen at the next microcar extravaganza at grande lodge forest grove
I've always enjoyed shopping at this particular Ace hardware. They've always kept diverse staffing so some employees had expertise the others lacked. I just found out my favorite employee I could count on with a wide knowledge of all areas and hands down the only store expert on keys and key fobs for cars (no one else even seemed to care to try) just quit. I'm unsure why and just got the typical. Bullcrap when I asked about him. I know this as I was one of his last customers and he confided in me it was his last day and why. You will be missed Tony! I hope you apply at the Aloha or Forest Grove store. You would be a great addition to either store and I'm sure your skills would be recognized and appreciated as all get to know you. I will be looking for you as I prefer to shop locally owned businesses. Although I won't be shopping at ones who's management prefers profit over talent. Hillsboro Ace hardware just won't ever be the same without you
Though the last time we went the woman who helped us was not very nice, usually this place is awesome. I am not into hardware, and I could get lost for hours here. The staff is usually quite helpful. I recently purchased a portable grill online late one night, and it was ready immediately in the morning. Pick up was a breeze. They have a great selection of knives as well! Personally, I prefer the Hillsboro location over the rest.
This location notified me to come pick up my order, and I got there 20 minutes later. Nobody was there, and they ignored all my pickup calls.
Nobody was available for 45+ minutes for me to pick up my one item, so I left and canceled the order. Waste of time.
I put in an order for the same product at Home Depot 2 miles away after waiting so long at Ace for nothing, and had my product in hand within 20 minutes no hassle at all.
Lesson Learned, don't go to Ace. Home Depot is where it's at.
They always have what I need, and are price competitive with big box stores. Oh, and the employees won’t hide from you like at the orange or blue stores. They’ll actually do this weird thing where they will walk up to you and ask if they can help. Try not to panic, this is what us old people call “normal” customer service.
This place is the best! Got help cashing a express money order since I don't have a bank account! Sure beats paying $15 to mail it in and waiting 30 days! Ace only charged me $10 and I got my money right then! Thanks!
Amazing how much stuff they pack in these stores. Great place to find small fix it items. The screw assortment is awesome. Way better than the big box stores.
Nice friendly staff, and clean store. But twice I have gone there and they didn't have what I was looking for. And their hours are pitiful. They are practically only open bankers hours. I hate going to the big box stores, but at least they are open when I need to get stuff.
They are wonderful. Not only do I find what I need at a reasonable price but they let our American Legion Auxiliary distribute Memorial poppies in May and November. Great people!
