This was a great stay—I’d imagine the BEST stay in Burns one could hope to find. It’s clear the family running this hotel put their heart and soul into this business and truly excel at hospitality. They are clearly invested in their hotel bringing in broader business to the town and you can’t help but root for their success.

Best night of sleep I had all week! Furnishing and beds truly are excellent. The back patio would be a can’t-miss in just about any other season, but it was cold and rainy the night we came in.

Only small suggestions—ice access (unless I missed it somewhere in the communal area) and a clear exit point for the back patio when snow is piled up.

I'm writing this after reading a not so nice review. We just checked in no one at the front desk. Reminded me a little of the shinning. I think we maybe the only ones here? This place is super awesome! It's super clean an super cute. My significant other an I both love history of old buildings. Love that you kept it like what it was back in the day. If you are not a needy traveler an love quite an nice. An clean no bugs but then again even if there was a few we kinda are in the Pacific Northwest. This place is cool an I've only been here for less then 30 minutes.

Guest Parking is on public streets surrounding the hotel, with little to no security via appropriate lighting.

All guest rooms are on the 2nd floor. The hotel has no lift. Disabled and or elderly guests would have serious difficulties in taking their bags up the steep stairs to their room.

The air conditioner was locked down in the room. Paying guests have no control over the air conditioners in their rooms.

I found lots of bugs in the room.

The room had limited amenities, in faulty dispensers.

The rooms sound like they have little to no sound proofing. I could hear everything the guests in adjoining rooms and the hallway were saying clearly. Privacy was an issue.

I wouldn’t recommend the Historic Central Hotel. Burns is a nice town, but I’d give this hotel a miss.

This place is a little gem in Burns. We needed a place to stay spur of the moment in the evening and Jen made it super easy to book on the spot on the phone. Super cute Prohibition theme and vibe with some seriously swanky community spaces to hang out. Next time we need to stay in Burns we will plan on spending more time on premises to just enjoy. Clean functional rooms, shared bathroom in our hallway.

This place is such a gem! A true delight and excellent value on our three night trip through eastern Oregon. Would love to stay again.and have found myself daydreaming about how I could possibly swing throwing a big party in their beautiful group space.

This place is amazing! So much historic charm combined with modern conveniences. We absolutely loved it. We stayed on a Friday night and the outdoor patio was open serving inexpensive pints of microbrew beers, wine and ciders. There was a food truck there to purchase food. The patio had amazing ambiance and a lovely fire. Everyone that we encountered from this hotel from booking to check-in to the patio was incredible. Two things to note which were not problems for us yet could be for others. Our room did not have a TV in it. It worked great for us. We instead went to the patio, actually talked to each other and went to bed early! Additionally, the rooms are all on the second floor and there are quite a few steps. Also worked for us as we are both capable of climbing steps. Overall, an amazing experience and I only wish we weren’t just passing through for one night! Loved it!

This place is magical. No joke, it's eclectic flair and well appointed rooms are fantastic. I honestly do not understand how other hotels are in this tiny town as this place is far superior.

This hotel is amazing! It was restored and they kept the charm and history alive. If you can, try to plan to stay when they have events in the back, it’s really fun! You’ll also want to be able to access downstairs…

Not enough to be said about this place! We got in too late to even explore everything (unfortunately) and yet still 5 stars all around. Attention to detail is awesome! Jen is so kind and we didn't even meet her in person. Forrest clearly has amazing talent restoring that place. And Heather even caught us by text on the way out because we forgot sweat pants and tell us happy anniversary. Great people. We WILL be back again.

This place has 5 star reviews across the board for a reason! Clean, excellent service, friendly staff and the patio/bar area is perfect to kick back and have a few cool beers after a long day on the road. The owners, Jen and Forrest are super nice people and care about what they've created and run it with pride. (Hard to find these days) helped us out in a pinch, which I greatly appreciate!

What a cool place! We stayed here for our 19th anniversary and what a treat it was. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is so cool. We played cards on the patio, I worked early in the morning from the living room and the bed was so comfortable. We can't wait to return!

Our daughter & son-in-law were traveling home to the Salem area from Nevada, and needed a place to stay so they were not coming over the snowy passes at night. I called Historic Central Hotel and spoke with Jen. She was very kind and helpful as this nervous mom explained the situation. We booked a room for them and then she notified us via text that she had upgraded them for free. We never would’ve found this gem if it wasn’t for a snowstorm and a nervous mom. Now, our kids are safe and comfortable for the night and my husband and I are already planning our getaway to Burns to this beautiful hotel for our coming anniversary. Kindness goes a long way! Thank you Jen, for your kind heart.

I was attending an event across the street. Perfect location! Beautiful quaint little hotel. All the rooms are upstairs and singles will share a bathroom but you'll have a sink in your room. Free WiFi. Love the historic charm. Electronic entry to guest areas and to your room; no key to have to keep track of. Staff were attentive and thorough. The restoration of this landmark in Burns is well done and the back patio looks like a great place for a get together at least half of the year.

An interesting concept, that is executed very well. Bookings and access are online, by text or phone. You book your room, pay online and access codes are sent for the building and your room. Worked very well for my one night stay during a long road trip.
The "bees knees" room i had was compact with a very comfortable bed and sink. Shower and toilet, were in a large shared bath just off the hallway. Works just fine. There are some rooms with ensuite baths but i, was feeling cheap. This is a VERY COOL family renovated and run hotel.
I have this on my list to stop back again, stay longer and explore the area. Forget about Holiday inn or one of the chains. Support local and stay, explore a very cool place.
Check it out online.

This place is a work of art, or love, or both. I'm sure there was a lot of time, effort, and money involved in the renovation of this hotel, but the thing that impresses me most is the imagination, and attention to detail that must have been poured into it. If you are anywhere near the Burns area and are in need of a room, or a venue this is the place to go.
