Inn the Ground, Carlton OR

What a wonderful and unique experience! Highly recommended! The property is beautiful. The Inn reminded me of a Frank Lloyd Wright design - clean lines, thoughtful accents and a warm ambiance with lots of wood and natural stone. Looking out over the valley, you could see Scottish Highland cows peacefully grazing in the morning. And the views are amazing - we were visited by many deer in the afternoon (I got 12 in one photo) and the wildflowers are still in bloom despite the cool weather. The warm breakfast was delicious - made fresh from the farm, and we got warm, fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. The service was excellent and I felt like they had thought of every detail.

We were there for a business meeting and there were several meeting rooms that were ideal for this. Plenty of space and beautiful views. And the guest rooms have the latest technology in lighting and sound. We'll definitely be back again. Thank you for a great visit!

This is truly the best place I have ever stayed! Everything about this place is phenomenal. Both the grounds and inn were absolutely stunning. Our room was spotless and cozy. The staff was incredible. Everyone was so thoughtful and went out of their way to remember specific details about us and make us feel welcome. We loved the location too. It was close amazing hiking trails as well as two cute towns with great dining options. Shout out to their restaurant in McMinnville, Humble Spirit, which served the best trout and carrots (yes, carrots, do not miss this dish!) I've ever had in my life! I could go on and on about this place, but I'll end with calling out the breakfast. The farm fresh breakfast the Inn serves is one of the best meals I've ever had. We can't wait to come back!

Inn the Ground created a lovely and intentional stay for my wife and I. Everyone at the Inn was friendly, thoughtful, and took the time to ask us questions to make our stay more personalized.
The Inn itself and the grounds are breathtaking. We loved waking up and watching the sun rise over Mt. Hood, as well as drinking wine by the fire and watching the sun set over the rolling hills. We can't wait to go back!

Wow, just wow. Games, fireplaces, farm animals, wild flowers, they have it all.

Everything about this experience was perfect. The rooms are very large and immaculate. They are so well thought out, with snacks and the coolest coffee maker I’ve seen. The towels are soft and fluffy. The patio is an absolute gem - drinking coffee looking out over the quiet morning meadow is the best. They also had evening cookies

Diane called us prior to arrival to ensure everything was setup for our kiddo. She even suggested a farm tour. Our little one LOVED the tour Todd took us on and we loved getting background on the property.

The morning breakfast was perfect before a long day, and the best I’ve had. They had pastries, fresh juice, amazing eggs, ham -from the farm, and a delicious yogurt parfait.

Snatch up a stay while you can, since they only have 9 luxurious rooms. I would be zero percent surprised if they add a minimum night stay. We stayed one night and I was so sad to leave. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t stay longer but I feel they put in as much effort for a one nights stay as they do for a multi-night stay.

Don’t miss out on their sister restaurant in too - Humble Spirit - so delicious.

Tasteful luxury in a rural setting, just outside Portland. Serene decor, thoughtful and top-of-the-line products and amenities, engaging and lovely staff—thank you, Todd and Rachael—with spectacular views and visiting wildlife.

This was the perfect place to wrap up a beautiful Oregon visit…if only I could stay longer!

The Inn is a most unexpected place for this area. It is a high end experience in an unlikely location. The accommodations were first class, the service was exceptional, and the people were wonderful. I would definitely stay here again when I return to the Willamette Valley.

What a gem. I feel so lucky to have been able to make a reservation at such a thoughtful, detail-oriented, generously hospitable, relaxing, delighting and next-level amazing accommodation in the heart of the Portland-area wine and farm country. Inn the Ground was such a BEAUTIFUL property atop a hill with deer-laden pastures with green-scapes, tree-lines and bountiful sky/sunset/sunrise views. With a captivating and quiet suite with luxurious amenities (native Portland accents and products), the rooms were ever so comfortable and indulgent. The grounds smelled of amazing eucalyptus and lavender throughout. The service was impeccable, warm and welcoming. We literally texted over a dozen friends after meeting Todd and the rest of the staff, because this place will NOT disappoint. From the popcorn, cookie and seltzer welcome, to the filling breakfast with locally foraged ingredients, the in-room coffee and Ratio/Fellow accoutrements, Inn the Ground was a completely fully encapsulated getaway, though it was just minutes away from McMinnville. What a treat and joy to stay here. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again!

We absolutely loved our stay here! You could tell that every detail from the decor, to the linens in the room was carefully selected. The common areas were beautiful and the rooms were spacious while still providing a cozy atmosphere. The staff was incredible- all were very kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had and was the perfect ending to our trip. Finally, the grounds and the views were really beautiful. We enjoyed a walk around the property and just taking in the beautiful views of wine country. Would absolutely recommend a visit to anyone and cannot wait to return!

THIS PLACE IS UNREAL. Diane was the best host. Becca made breakfast a great start to the day, every day. Cheyenne was able to get us in to Resonance at the last minute. Jordan gave us the best tour of the farm. I wish we were able to stay longer. We will absolutely be back.

This Inn is simply perfect! If you are looking for a special experience in wine country give it a try. The location is spectacular, the breakfast is delicious, and the people are extremely nice and helpful in every way. The entire Inn is beautifully designed and appointed with stunning art and very tasteful furnishings. It is luxurious but casual - comfortable but yet a complete 5 star experience.

My husband and I felt so spoiled during our stay here. The Inn is very luxurious, while still maintaining an intimate and cozy feel. Every space here has floor to ceiling windows that offer sweeping, eastward views of Willamette Valley - the view of sunrise is a show stopper. During our brief stay, we soaked in the sun on the patio, played a few games of pickleball at their beautiful sports facility down the road, and took a rejuvenating walk on the hiking trails. Every element of Inn The Ground, from the attentive staff to the well-appointed spaces, made our one-night stay an incredible experience.

If you desire the best, come to Inn the Ground. Exceptional service and attention to detail. Stunning grounds and landscaped backdrop. Quiet rooms, with a serene view. My wife and I will be back without question.

I didn't stay here, but got a wonderful tour of the grounds. Jordan Hamilton was a gracious host. He showed The Sanctuary, hiking trails, farm, and athletic facilities. A place to be truly in nature and find calm serenity.

My husband and I are world travelers and we can easily say this was one of the top five inns we have had the pleasure to visit. It is elegance grounded in nature. The attention to detail is impeccable. Incredible views, so very quiet and you can see the Milky Way. We will be back.

This is such a magical property-it feels worlds away despite being within close proximity to some of wine country's best spots. The stargazing and sunrise were spectacular, and the hiking trails and animal spotting were bonuses. We had a really peaceful stay and now I want to go back in winter when it's extra cozy!

Truly one of the most thoughtful, intentional and exceptional getaway. The hospitality was wonderful, the grounds are beyond breathtaking. One night is not even near enough, we will definitely be back and can't recommend this spot more. Inn the Ground is one of the best additions to the valley by a long shot. You don't want to miss out on this special spot.

What impresses me most about this exquisite inn, aside from the gorgeous, quiet, bucolic setting, is the thoughtful attention to detail evident in all aspects of our stay here: the gravel parking lot has a cemented area for their disability parking spot - gravel can be perilous for people with walkers, canes, or wheelchairs.
Intelligent design is built into the discreet sliding door separating the toilet from the shower, where the touch of a button lights the night light and releases the door to slide easily to close.
Abundant, convenient usb ports and plugs, top notch coffee maker, coffee, teas, and amenities in the comfortable, spacious bedrooms as well as in the dining room and sanctuary.
And that's just the beginning. Hosts Diane, Todd, and staff members Rachel and. Megan? (apologies) are attentive, gracious, and kind.
If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, comfortable stay this is the place. Beautiful trails, picturesque ponds, & don't forget your bathing suit to enjoy a refreshing dip in the largest pond.

We had such an amazing stay- so relaxing, so peaceful and so beautiful. We left after one night completely recharged and content, and knowing that we will be back again. The rooms were luxuriously appointed, and the natural setting was breathtaking. Close encounters with deer, and surrounded by wildflowers. The sunrise over Mt Hood was breathtaking. The staff matched the peaceful ambiance. Can’t recommend this Inn highly enough!
