Integrated Resource Management reviews
4Dont work here and don't hire this company! I worked for IRM over this last summer and saw the absolute sh! T show that is this company first hand. Unsafe working conditions, unliveable wage, harmful chemicals being using every day while blatantly disregarding the safety regulations for them. I was even lied to in my interview. To say their practices are immoral don't even begin to cover it.
DO NOT WORK HERE! I worked for this company from September 2021 to February 2022. The low rate of pay ($15/hour) is nearly unheard of in the forestry/restoration industry. The owner of the company owns two boats but cannot pay his employees anything close to a reasonable wage. Hours are unreliable. There is no reimbursement for driving your own vehicle to the shop. Once you get in the work truck, you are paid a travel stipend that is $7 to $13 (one way). On certain days there is over four hours of time in the truck, meaning you are earning less than $3.25 an hour for that time. Also be prepared to regularly wake up at 5am.
Work is draining, occasionally rewarding, but often unsafe. Management is terrible at communicating objectives to the crew. You will be notified about overnight trips as little as a day in advance. You will be using herbicides around half the time (despite what they tell you), and it is literally impossible to avoid having them leak onto your skin. There are virtually no opportunities to move up in the company, and you only get a $. 50 raise after a year.
If you are looking to gain experience in the fields of ecology or natural resources, you are better off holding out for something better. In the meantime you will make just as much, and probably more, working at a restaurant. I said it up top and I'll say it again. DO NOT WORK HERE!
I purchase harnesses from IRM as they’re the only place around to carry them for my data collector. I’ve had nothing but good experiences. To the gentleman rating them for spraying glyphosate, I’m not sure you really understand how reviews work. They’re doing their job, you need to direct your review to the appropriate place, on a chemical website for example? That has zero reflection on their company. Plus glyphosate, really? There are far worse things than glyphosate my friend.
