Wow. Wow is the word I'm looking for here.

Jacqueline exceeded my already high expectations. We ordered several dishes, guided by our friendly and helpful server, Tatiana. And each bite was a revelation.

The squid ink udon with crab and cauliflower was stupendous. The hamachi crudo was outstanding.

Beets were terrific, with black sesame paste underneath, it was like digging through a garden of flavors.

Each dish impressed, the chef showing tact, and a deft hand at showcasing the ingredients while surrounding them with flavors that nod and nudge you in different directions.

Fantastic evening, service was excellent, food was the best I've had in Portland and my friends (who are locals) agreed.

Highly recommend.

Price: Many things were market price

Food: Everything was super fresh, presentation was on point, accompaniments were paired to perfection. The cool thing about Portland.is that they serve you things that are in season and fresh. Garden to plate.

Service: Everyone worked together so we saw multiple waiters dropping off food. In addition our waitress was attentive and always available.

Environment: Cozy but enough seating. Decor was eclectic. The three of us came for my best friend’s birthday dinner. But you can see there were people here for business meetings, along with dates.

NTT [[Next Time Try]]: I look forward to trying whatever is in season next time

Have fun exploring! See you out there! Xo

Sat at the oyster shuckers counter for my birthday! The guys shucking oysters were so fun and chatty, our server who’s taken care of my friends several times is always so kind and wonderful (newspaper boy hat 10/05) the day she served us. The food is amazing. Hamachi crudo crushes. Thanks for always taking care of your industry friends! We will be back!

One of my go to spots when I’m craving oysters and seafood. They never disappoint. They have walk ins but best to make reservations and leave walk ins for out of town visitors. I did the “served family style” once and got to try so many different items from the menu. It was a little too much food for me. Since, we just order a la carte and share. This time we ordered 6 dishes + dessert and it was the perfect amount for two. Everything was delicious and there was a standout. It was the last dish that came to the table…. Squid ink udon

Cozy restaurant in a converted residence in a sweet neighborhood. Did I tell you about the food? The hamachi crudo is essential, but honestly every dish had a nice surprise burst of flavor. Solid cocktail game as well. Get reservations, otherwise you'll be shut out.

This is my favorite “special occasion” restaurant in Portland. Staples like the lobster roll are great. The cedar plank smoked fish was spectacular too!

On 9/28/23 - We were excited about trying out this well known restaurant in our neighborhood and the food was very good but the service was disappointing as we watched our waiter act as if he really didn’t care at all and seemed to have lost all interest in us by 9: 40 pm on a Thursday eve. It will be a long time until we try this restaurant again.

The food was delicious, when we eventually managed to get it. They're not well set up to handle substitutions, especially if two people dining together have different dietary needs or tastes.

As with many fine dining spots, Chef wants to serve their food as they envision it. I want to enjoy a meal with foods I enjoy, that won't poison me.

We got, "we think you'd enjoy X dish" as an alternative to the foods we requested. If "X dish" appealed, we would have asked about it.

Leaving things out or on the side was met with astonishment. Couldn't possibly serve a fruit dish without the mascarpone underneath it!

Genuinely one of the most wonderful dining experiences my partner and I have had in quite some time. Service was impeccable and each dish was prepared with love and care. We will be making our way back to Jaqueline again soon.

Everything we ordered was amazing and memorable! Took advantage of the happy hour oysters, and highly recommend the appetizer and dinner scallops, but the absolute best thing we ate was the trout…not sure how they get all that flavor in there but probably the best cooked fish we’ve had in maybe forever!

I have been here four times recently and have left completely satisfied each time. The oyster happy hour is phenomenal, the best deal in town. (It makes up for the slightly pricey rest of the menu.) Happily the other items rotate frequently enough that you can come back often to try new things. One of my favorite places in Portland.

Came for our wedding anniversary so splurged for this meal. Great oysters and tempura oyster mushrooms. Rest of the dishes were pretty good but not amazing. Service a bit slow/haphazard with no consistent server for the evening, and overall felt very busy and loud. Still made for a very pleasant evening out though so would still recommend trying it for a special occasion!

Food is spot on - fresh, innovative, and incredible flavors. The smashed cucumbers with nectarines and dukkah was a revelation, and both the Salt Spring mussels and grilled swordfish were amazing. This is definitely a very Portland hipster-vibing place, as supervised by Steve Zissou. Happy hour is great if you like fresh oysters, otherwise not much on the HH menu, but stay for dinner because it's very worth it. Reservations are a must.

Jacqueline, in my opinion, is maybe the best restaurant in Portland. They consistently deliver on all levels…food, atmosphere and hospitality.
Jen is one of the most authentic and best servers in the city, and Malina is a total pro behind the bar.
The kitchen staff executes consistently and flawlessly, and then delivers the dishes to the table with knowledge and grace. It’s an absolute pleasure to dine there. Bravo!

I was really interested to compare this to Normandie since their menus and ratings are super similar. Everything we had here was at least good, a lot of it very good - the whole trout, nectarines, crab toast, & calamari were all great, the chocolate/root beer dessert was one of the best ever. But the peaches were just fine (not much flavor) and we regret paying so much for the scallops (good as scallops always are, but not really interesting or special imo). Overall I don't think it really compares to Normandie which has both much better flavors/consistency and is cheaper. Still an easy 5 stars, but #12 restaurant ever for me vs. Normandie is #3.

Amazing! One of the best seafood meals of my life. We ordered 7 dishes and sat at the oyster shucking counter. The oysters were excellent, had ones sourced from 3 different areas. Had a hamachi caviche that was incredible. And a shrimp tom kha soup that we loved. Service was excellent. And beautiful atmosphere. My wife and I love fine dining and we highly recommend it.

What a gem for this neighborhood to have. I heard this was a great place to try to walk in on a Monday, and to our surprise, we were able to grab a seat at the bar. The different seafood options and the veggies were so delicious, my cocktail was perfectly paired, and the restaurant had such a nice vibe. Our server at the bar was really kind too. We want to try everything on the menu so we'll definitely be back.
