The best mechanic in Albany! Locally owned and operated! James treats his customers fairly and will not gouge you or convince you to get repairs you don't need.

He helped me last year when my alternator died unexpectedly and got it fixed ASAP even though they were busy. Then this year when it broke two weeks outside of the warranty. James took care of it again and didn't charge me a cent even though he could have since they warranty was up.

I go to James for everything now, including oil changes! The only reason I would say don't go to James is so that I don't have to wait longer if I need to get *my* car in!

And an important note for femme folx, I never felt like he was talking down to me, treating me poorly, or trying to take advantage of my supposed lack of car knowledge because I'm a woman. We all know that experience at mechanics.

I had a stuck oil drain plug mid-DIY oil change that I couldn't break loose, called James the next morning and he got me in right away. I also had a new part I wanted installed and he was great about that, too. I was in and out super fast for an extremely fair price. We will definitely look to James first for any of our non-DIY vehicle needs! So nice to have such a local, reliable and professional shop - especially as a young woman, the guys were extremely kind and didn't make me feel shy about wanting to do some of my own maintenance or installing a part they hadn't seen before - SO nice!

James was recommended by a friend. He got me in the same day, work was done on time, repairs were fully explained and price was very reasonable. I was greeted immediately by one of the mechanics and asked if they could help, which doesn't always happen.
