Jim & Patty's Coffee reviews
16Coffee People lives on at thia coffeeshop. Great shakes like I remember from the 90s. Damn Starbucks for dismantling this gem. May their coffee live on forever.
First time being here. Great place. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I'll have to go again to give a better judgement but it was nice.
Very LGBT+ friendly.
Loved this place for a long timeI always buy 5#s of Back Talk.thought maybe coffee days were over w/acid tummy! Nope, not at all. But I remember the days fondly of Black Tiger coffee. Oh man the best
Music is a bit loud for working. If you get coffee cake, you may want to have them warm it up first. Staff is exceptionally kind and attentive to feedback.
Listed as open on Thanksgiving. Not actually open. I couldn't find a way to contact them about it, but I'll change/remove the review once the hours are corrected so other people don't end up traveling here for nothing
Edit: they did it again. 1/22/22. Says they are open, but they are actually closed. Just watched 10 people pull up, try the door, and then get in their cars and drive away. Maybe waste of peoples time.
Edit: and again on 5/8/22. Closed 30 minutes early. Talked to a guy in the parking lot who said it's happened to him multiple times too. Sucks to drive out of my way to find out it's closed. Going to stop coming here.
Good breakfast sandwiches. They have changed the menu and dropped a couple things that were really good. They just recently reduced their size so every time I have been there recently it is crowded and loud and difficult to talk. They have gluten free items that is important to us so we still go until we can find a better place. Looking for options!
A lot of people seem to be a fan of this place but I personally was not very impressed by my experience. Service was rather slow when I went here with a group of friends on Saturday morning and the line took forever to make any progress, I'm not even sure why exactly. The people inside were friendly and servers were willing to answer any questions, though. The coffee shop was pretty clean, comfortable, and it seemed to attract a group of regulars. I was also not super impressed by the coffee and it tasted like a lot of other places, as did the bagels. Perhaps I am just overly picky, though. I'd give it another try if I were invited again but it's not somewhere I'd seek out on my own.
Terrible experience, the staff seemed flustered and confused with every customer. Finally being told we would need to wait an additional 5-10 minutes for our food that we ordered 20 minutes prior and that they were now also out of items we had ordered. We left without the food and won’t come back again, terrible way to start off the day.
Long story short, I would definitely come back here for the food, the staff, and the space.
PROS: The food was great, the staff friendly, and a decently sized space for either groups or individuals.
CONS: the coffee was waaaay too sweet. If I'm being honest, I did order a mocha. I don't normally order a mocha but I didn't see any options for a regular latte. I've had mochas before and they normally still taste like coffee. It's bitter coffee with a hint of sweetness from the chocolate. In this drink I could not taste coffee at all. This drink was completely imbalanced and I found myself wondering about diabetes while sipping it. Once I started worrying about my heart, the drink did not get finished.
Coffee was great. Wasn't impressed with the food. Gravy for biscuits and gravy was runny. The price we paid for a veggie without egg scramble was too high and it was like eating a wet warm salad, the "extra" potatoes to substitute for no eggs wasn't really extra at all and they were soggy. Disappointed in the meal. The guy helping us was nice, friendly helpful but he probably shouldn't be leaning against the counter where he was basically sitting on the fresh pastries sitting out on counter. Oops. But again very friendly. I'd go there for coffee but that's about it I think.
If you are lucky you might get a smile from an employee, but probably not! I'm pretty sure everyone who works there is from Mars or possibly Uranus. I've frequently stopped in to grab food and coffee for many years and extraterrestrials is the best description for the staff pig newton's are out of this world lol.
Best coffee and breakfast sandwiches! Workers are always nice and friendly, even when they are busy!
I always love going to this place! Super good coffee, Breakfast, staff and overall experience.
Haven't had a Black Forest Mocha in years.delicious and just how i remember it. Staff was very polite and on top of the spacing/mask compliance issues. Also, barista was so accomodating with a person who asked 30+ questions but wasn't listening to the answers before finally ordering. I would have lost my sh! T.but maybe they just needed a cup of joe to wake up.
Great place to hang out and the coffe is great but the food was not very good and they close the kitchen pretty early.
I love the coffee, food and atmosphere of this space - including the murals, personal photos and games to play. It's a great community meeting place.
What consistently struggles is the cleanliness of the restrooms. I regularly find trash full (or overflowing) and sinks/toilets needing cleaned. The check off sheets on the door are blank and if I mention the issue to staff, I get a blank stare.
