3I had a terrible time at john day dam road boat ramp, i was driving and the way the ramp was advertised made it seem like a car thing. Like your drive your car and do a jump to the other side of the lake. It was not. I fell in. My kid was in the car. She lost her best friend, godzilla the gorilla, the gorilla that would eat kids hats for his trick. Terrible day at john day dam road boat ramp.
Great spot to launch and a good spot to do some bank angling or fish off the floating dock.
This ramp is an amazing free boat launch into the Columbia river where the walleye are biting! This ramp has me urgin' for sturgeon! Remember to check for seasonal sturgeon retention guidelines throughout the year on your friendly Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife website!
