Restaurant Jojo reviews
20 The sandwiches were fantastic! I had the Mr Onion Fried Chicken & my husband had the Vampires Hate Her. Had to eat them with a knife and fork. The Joho (dessert) was dry; maybe because it’s gluten free?
When our bill came, they had charged $5 for ginger beer - but it’s $3 on the menu. I’d just suggest double-checking your bill.
You can tell great care went into devising this wonderful menu from the food all the way to the beverages. The staff are all very nice, if it wasn’t extremely parasocial of me I would call them friends. The jojos Instagram is one of my favorite ig accounts. One day I hope to be there for the brunch menu. I’m usually not one to pick vegetarian options but my partner got the Brussels sprouts sando and it was amazing I would definitely order that yum yum
Tl: dr service great, food taste is beautiful
Food was very good. Ordered a chicken melt sandwich which was excellent. Smart move that they put melted cheese on both sides so the sandwich does not fall apart when you bite into it. Smash burger was a hit as well. Jo Jo's were a bit too fried for me, but still good. Serving crushed ice with the soda pop is always a bonus! Taste so much better. Downside of this place is it is pre pay self serve so if you dine in, it's an automatic 20% gratuity. I still would of tipped that amount or more but again.no table service. We will be back for sure.
I haven’t even been to this location yet, but figured I’d give a 5 star since Steve decided to give 1 star due to the location being closed for maintenance.
Went to try their new brunch~
Hadn't been to this new location and I'm in love
The hanging plants to the mirror wall to the bold orange cushion backing for the booth seating.
Not to mention the chicken and waffles were cooked to perfection and have me dreaming about returning on the daily. Their mini jojo's breakfast potatoes are heaven and I need this recipe lastly I had their drink Ruby Rose and it was the perfect finish to a fantastic brunch.
Thank you,
Cheers~
Incredible food bookended by creative, delicious drinks and friendly, exceptional service. Quality shines here, though the quantities are also generous. A contemporary spin on a classic comfort combo!
Loud, the food is okay, drinks were good. Service was very good. I won't be returning.
Burgers with chicken, smash or tofu options. No sides, Alabama white mustard is with horseradish which I loved. The jojos are nicely seasoned and crisp.
Stop itching your flaky boils over your customers food before you hand it to me. Literally, stop.
These absolute ANGELS fulfilled an order that Postmates had cancelled and I could not be more obsessed with their customer care and extremely delicious veggie options
I typically really like there food and still do, but was served me raw chicken at dinner tonight which was unacceptable unfortunately.
I sent back the food which they refunded but had to wait quite a while to get a new piece of fully cooked chicken
This is being logged as a five-star review but if you're the owner/manager please know that this is a one-star review for a member on your staff. I love Jojo and think the food is incredible. The restaurant is a great addition to the neighborhood and I hope it is here for years to come.
One of your hosts was flippant and rude on February 19th, around noon, to myself and others waiting patiently in line. This person has a nose ring, long curly hair, and a bit of a beard. They had a cool, gold, vintage watch on, as well.
It's pretty hard to make me upset when dining out or taking away but this person should not be the first impression representation of your restaurant. This was hands-down the worst experience I had from a host in Portland - so bad I cancelled the order and left. I didn’t even ask for a refund for a $25 order I didn’t obtain because being around the host was so bad. It was a terrible experience caused by someone completely uncaring about how they were treating people.
I got the special called Vampires Hate Her with a garlic aioli and it was by far the best chicken sandwich I've ever had!
We came in, they were busy, and yet the service was very quick. The food came out in a very timely manner and the service was very friendly. The food.oh my gosh. DELICIOUS! Would definitely come back.
This place rocks! Tried it once about a month ago and went again in the same week.always talking highly of this place to all my friends! Have never heard a bad thing about the food from anyone.jojo is too good i love the burgers and milkshakes they have.
Decided to try this place for lunch. The inside is small but cozy, music was at a perfect volume to have conversations. I ordered a plain chicken/cheddar sandwich with side of regular jojos. My co-worker ordered just a chicken breast with spicy seasoning. We were taken aback when told to dine in was a 20% surcharge. It was pouring outside. My meal was $24, no drink included. His chicken was $5.50 plus $2 for the spicy season. I was like " if the chicken alone is $5.50, slice of cheddar was $2, that means my bun was $10. " So, with that said.be ready to pay a good amount to eat here. The food was good but not $24 good.
- chicken sandwiches -
️ Mr onion

Chicken types:
Fried
- not salty or spicy, just plain tasting, what you'd typically expect
- has a great crunch to it while being juicy on the inside
- honestly perfect
Grilled
- has charred and burnt bits to it which I appreciate to give it that crunch, but might be off-putting to anyone that doesn't like burnt bits
- not rubbery, was juicy
- has a bit of a buffalo undertone in my opinion, but this was not tasted by others
- smash burgers -
️Mr onion
- surprisingly loved this and wasn't expecting to because I know this place is known for its chicken
- a little bit spicier on the burger than the chicken sandwich
- super soft and juicy, super cheesy
- had a sweet and spicy taste to it
- my partner likes the fried chicken sandwich version of this more but I definitely like this one
Jojos burger
- really loved the bread that was used, it wasnt a bun but it was normal sliced bread that was grilled perfectly
- not as sweet as the Mr onion but really good
- imagine a grilled cheese with meat inside
Spicy
- good if you like spicy food, the green chili sauce was actually spicy
- likely wouldn't order again, prefer the spicy chicken sandwich
- Jojo's -
Jojo's
- like the spices on it
- perfectly crispy
- perhaps a little salty at times, but the sauce cuts it
Spicy loaded jojo's
- really cheesey and actually spicy
- doesn't have the same crunch as the normal jojo's though
- probably wouldn't reorder due to sogginess but really loved the spice, it was delicious and worth trying at least once
- Salads -
Coleslaw
- love that it wasn't heavy and overly creamy
- felt like an actual salad but shredded
Cruncher salad
- a little heavy on the dressing to me
- creamy and rich
- the ranch tastes different than just normal ranch, a little heavier and creamier, has a lot of dill in it
- the grilled chicken was really good with this - bc it has a little bit of a firey taste to it
- Cocktails -
️Club hopper
- tastes like delicious orange juice, super fruity
- can't taste the alcohol
- love the color and the fruit on the rim
A slow death to the monarchy
- refreshing and fruity

- fizzy
Sex, drugs and lovejoy
- very alcohol forward

- very bitter
️The sun also rises
- citrusy and floral
- refreshing
- make sure to mix it
- prefer the club hopper, but you can definitely drink this one faster
Sauces:
Jojo sauce
Alabama white mustard
Sweet chili
Service: as of today Feb 26,2023, it looks like the overall set up has changed. There is someone closer to the door taking orders immediately and it looks like seating is just more difficult and almost seemed reservation / text based. It actually proved to be difficult to get a seat at 2pm. It was kind of strange relative to the other times I've been here. I thought it would been an off hour. There were several vacant tables but I think they were reserved for others or something! Was definitely strange.
Jojo has the best chicken and jojo's in town. Expertly fried with a great vegan menu.
Good food, but ordering is still OTC, even though they tell you to get a table first. Very loud inside.
I came into Jojo’s for the jojo’s… and didn’t get a single one. Overall incredible food - ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken patty melt style and it was everything I could have asked for. Flavor profiles were superior and made me feel like I was back in Nashville. Only true downfall was not being checked in on till it was too late (20-30 minutes after we were served / not getting the jojos we ordered) otherwise would have given it a perfect score.
