Dr Joe and his staff are the best! After 30 years my retainer was causing me pain. Things were just opening up after COVID lockdown when I called Dr Joe’s office where I’d never been seen before. Though their highest priority was existing patients, his office manager was concerned about my pain and got me right in for a new retainer, which they would be able to make on the spot (things have evolved a lot since I had braces!). I arrived at the wrong time, but they still took me right in. Then Dr Joe checked out the problem, tweaked my old retainer, and sent me out the door in a jiffy without a charge! These people could not have been any nicer and certainly I was not deserving of such gracious accommodation. When my kids need braces this is where they will get their care. I’m a fan for life!

After being frustrated by the quality of care we were getting for our child at another orthodontist in the neighborhood, we came to Dr. Joe for a second opinion about jaw surgery.

I am so glad we made the choice to see Dr. Joe. He took the time to fully explain the situation to us, and what all the options were and which ones made the most sense. Overall it was truly a great experience, and I wish we had picked Dr. Joe from the beginning!

The staff at Braces by Joe went above and beyond in making her feel comfortable and getting her through her first treatment. Dr Joe, Sheri and office team have been nothing but kind and welcoming. After our first appointment my daughter was so excited she hardly slept that night. They have a very smooth set up in place to keep everyone healthy and safe due to Covid. Highly recommended you give them a call! Thank you Dr Joe and Team for your top notch service. I am living proof that you are never too old to get braces! The results are so good that I only wish I had decided to do it sooner. (I am 65 and just had my braces removed.) From start to finish, I had a great experience with Dr. Joe and the entire staff at Braces by Dr. Joe. I received quality care each and every time. Dr. Joe is a skillful orthodontist who wants the very best results for you. And his staff is extremely capable and super nice. All in all, a fantastic experience. If you are thinking about getting braces, do it! They will take great care of you.

I recently had my braces taken off (woo-hoo) post re-opening this month, and I was impressed by all of the safety and protective measures for COVID-19 put into place and practiced by the entire staff. I wouldn't hesitate to book an appointment, or you can also schedule a virtual consultation!

Awful front office staff. Very rude. Don’t care about patients hearing them gossip and make unkind comments about others. You need to get new employees Dr Joe! Don’t care about patients at all. Just move them along like a heard of cattle. It’s all about the $$$.

An aesthetically pleasant environment, and a congenial staff helped my child and I more than weather the experience of having braces, it made it fun, in some measure. I couldn’t recommend Doctor Joe enough.

My teeth weren’t looking the best when I first came in but then my 2-3 years past and my braces came off, teeth looking bomb. Great experience. Very happy with my smile!

Oh my goodness, what a relief! I was dreading having to deal with not one, but two, teens with braces. And not only braces but the dreaded headgear too. But it has been so easy. Dr. Joe is 100% on top of his game as an orthodontist, his office runs like clockwork (and is a lot more fun than that sounds), the technicians are excellent, and Hank is a super cute office dog. I can't say enough about Dr. Joes!

Years ago I called when my permanent retainer started to break off. At the time I was a recent college grad with no benefits, and Dr. Joe gave me a great deal. Then less than a year later it started to break off again, and Dr. Joe fixed it up at no cost. I can’t thank him enough for helping me out so much at a time I really needed it. The staff are all really great!

I needed some correction after a tooth removal, and Dr. Joe was able to come up with a relatively simple and inexpensive fix. The office is busy, but I’ve never waited more than a few minutes to see the doctor. Highly recommend!

Love this place! They have made my experience with braces so pleasurable and everyone in the office is so nice. They not only made it nice to come in but also on my wallet and have always been willing to work with me.

Dr. Joe and his entire staff are top of the line. This place is clean, they explain what they're doing and why, and the results are amazing. Dr. Joe and team not only straightened my teeth, but fixed my bite. Chewing food is awesome now and so easy to keep my teeth clean!

The service is fine, but this is the most expensive orthodontist in Portland. Also, they book appointments 8 weeks ahead, so keep that in mind.

I'm an adult and got braces for the 2nd time. I didn't mind braces as a kid, but 30 years later I have a lot of fear in the dental chair.

Dr. Joe and his staff were very patient. I just had my braces removed and I was terrified! They made the process as easy as possible and made sure I was happy. Also, my teeth look great!

I especially like how modern everything is: you check in with a touch screen computer, I requested text reminders 3 days before appointments (no problem!).

There are a lot of other adults getting braces, who knew? I was asked at each appointment if I was sure I wanted clear bands or if I wanted to pick a novelty color like the kids (no, but thank you for asking!)

I'm so glad I selected Dr. Joe for my orthodontia. I consulted with two other Portland orthodontists first and felt that I had the best rapport with Dr. Joe. He and his excellent staff made the entire process relatively painless. It was an all-around good experience.

What a professional yet friendly and comfortable office. I've had braces twice before visiting Dr. Joe so I'm not new to orthodontics. My first impression of Dr. Joe was that he really, truly cared about making my smile it's best and communicating that in a way that made me excited about it as well. Having had braces before I was not thinking about going through that again. Dr Joe's confidence in not just straightening my teeth but addressing my gum recession and overbite made it a no brainer for me to go for it and make my smile what it always should have been. I got Invisaligns this time which were a very welcome change from the wire braces I had before. I see patients of my own every day and appreciated the minimalism of the Invisaligns for sure. I brought my retainer here when it broke after over 10 years of use. The care and service is beyond comparison. If I could go back in time and get all my orthodontic work done here, I would without question. I actually left feeling inspired, that's how cheerful and helpful this office is!
