My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Katy as our wedding photographer. The whole experience was absolutely perfect!

There are so many good things to say but I’ll try to make it concise. She is excellent at communicating and really goes out of her way to get to know you and your vision. She instantly made us feel comfortable and listened to. She was transparent about cost, timeline, all the details. She just made everything so smooth and easy pre-wedding, during the wedding, and afterwards.

Each of our guests adored her. Katy has this way of being kind and assertive to help direct the flow of things. This ensured we got all of the pictures we wanted and more. I can’t express enough how much I appreciated that in particular.

She’s the best at what she does, and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to work with her.

For years, I had dreamed of having our family portraits taken outdoors amid the Fall colors—then I found Katy, and my dream came true! I signed up for her e-mail list to receive mini portrait session announcements, and once I selected the date for our mini shoot, Katy guided us seamlessly through the process. Her e-mail correspondence contained many helpful details about the photo session, and her contract was clearly written. She chose Hoyt Arboretum as our portrait venue since the October colors were vibrant at that location, and she took us to her favorite photo spots. It is obvious that Katy loves her work, as she was very pleasant and patient with all ages, and she actually made posing for the camera fun! Within a week following our portrait session, she provided many proofs for our review. So many beautiful pictures from which to choose our favorites! Once we made our selections, in less than three weeks she placed the finished photos in our private online gallery ready to download or order prints. Thank you, Katy, for your kindness and professionalism!

My experience with Katy was incredible. I slid into her inbox with a dream for a branded photoshoot, and she made it come true! I really appreciate Katy's talent but also her consulting skills. I had a great experience working with Katy. I hired her to take some portraits of me for my website. I knew I needed to take new photos but I don't love being in front of a camera so I was a bit nervous coming into it. Katy was excellent throughout - during the shoot she did a great job of making me comfortable and I ended up with some photos that I think captured a good representation of who I am, which is exactly what I wanted. I enthusiastically recommend her if you're looking for portraits!

Katy is an incredible photographer. I needed an emergency photoshoot and I was certain there was no way to make it work, but Katy was an absolute dream and so incredibly accommodating of my super tight timeline. Her photos have such incredible feeling and mood to them and I am so happy that I was able to get photos from her.

I've worked with Katy twice - for lifestyle photos and most recently a couples mini-session - and highly recommend her! She takes the time to understand what you are hoping to get out of the photos (e.g. Why are you taking them, desired look and feel, etc.) and provides great direction during the session. I've been very happy with the photos from both sessions - and invested in additional edited photos outside of the packages because I loved them so much! Katy is professional, super nice and will make you feel comfortable during the session - and the end result is amazing! I look forward to working with Katy again in the future.

My daughter's senior photos turned out AMAZING! This was my daughter's first professional photo shoot - so we had LOTS of questions leading up to the BIG DAY. We sought advice from Katy on locations and various other tactical details even sending her photos of outfits to help us choose in advance. Katy was always very responsive, supportive and patient during our indecisiveness.

We chose the senior photo package with two different locations in order to provide my daughter with the greater variety / diversity she was seeking. Katy was very reasonable and supporting when accommodating a 2nd location which included travel.

We had scheduled our photo shoot ~5 months in advance. When our late August weather turned surprisingly horrible just before the big day, Katy offered alternative dates/times, was very flexible, and "weathered" the unknowns with us as we all worked to reschedule/align our plans to a better weather day.

Most importantly though my daughter is thrilled with her photos! My daughter wanted photos that were not like all the other senior photos she sees. Katy truly delivered on that and the end result are photos that are truly unique and special while capturing my daughter's spirit as well.

A much needed follow up to an already amazing experience. Due to the chaos of the pandemic we ended up having a wedding celebration two years after our engagement for which there was no other option but Katy for photography. Although we both ended up being sick for the day of event, she managed to get us both laughing and we have some absolutely amazing pictures to remember the day by. She was also amazing the day of the big event, and took charge being the boss when it came to herding family members. Fast forward to a little under a year later and we managed to snag one of her portrait sessions to document the growth of our family with a new little one. Once again, she managed to get a three month old to smile even though it was way past bedtime. We could not recommend Katy more and will likely be reaching out to her again in the future as it seems she has become part of how we document big life events.

My fiancé and I had engagement photos done with Katy last fall and it was an amazing experience. We decided to do the whole day package because we very rarely have the time to have pictures taken. We were able to adventure all around the Columbia River Gorge and up into Mt. Hood. Other than a phone call, we had not met Katy before, but she made the entire day feel very easy and natural. We loved how the pictures turned out and I am already plotting a new excuse to call her for more pictures.

Katy is a fantastic artist, professional, and a lovely person all around. She shot photos for both our engagement and our wedding and we had such an amazing time working with her to capture these special moments in our relationship. As a fellow bird-lover we both delighted in the local nature in our locations and picked out bird calls together. On our wedding day, Katy worked incredibly hard to photograph all our special moments and loved ones and our wedding gallery is evident of that skill. Her technical touch and eye for lighting can't be understated! We will treasure these memories forever, thank you Katy.

This review is LONG over due, but better late than never right?

I got portraits done back in June 2022 with Katy and I’m so glad I chose her! I haven’t had professional pictures done of me since mom brought us to JC Penny as kids. I felt awkward and nervous at first, but Katy made me feel comfortable and like a natural after a few minutes of talking and joking.

Katy is talented, professional, kind, and great with communication. The whole process was smooth from start to finish. A one of a kind photographer that I highly recommend!

Katy is a phenomenal photographer and an absolute pleasure to work with! My husband and I eloped last year, and hired Katy as our photographer. Katy was flexible, and worked with us to make us feel comfortable. We got married in Prineville, Oregon, and Katy drove with us to take pictures at the painted hills. Katy wore a mask the entire day (she’s a champ!) and had excellent COVID protocols in place. Katy was constantly looking for photo opportunities on the drive to the painted hills - and we got some amazing pictures!

On a personal level we loved getting to work with Katy. It was fun to spend the day with her, she made everyone at our elopement feel at ease. We also got some very fun Taco Bell pictures!

After the ceremony Katy was communicative and let us know when our pictures would be ready. She also provided us with sneak peeks after the ceremony. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the pictures Katy took, I would highly recommend her to anyone getting married.

2023-6-9 edit: my brother recently told me he would be getting married in Portland in two weeks! He knew my wedding pictures turned out beautifully, so he asked me to reach out to Katy (which I was happy to do, but wasn’t optimistic given the short timeline). While Katy wasn’t available, she sent me a list of references who would be available of that date. Thanks to Katy’s recommendations, we found a photographer with two weeks notice! This just proves what I already knew, that not only is Katy an amazing photographer, she’s a lovely person. You can’t do better, and I feel lucky to have had her as our photographer.
