To whom it may concern,

I am writing to formally file a complaint against Kennedy Fuel Company for the severely poor service I have experienced concerning my air conditioning unit, which was originally installed by them and was under warranty.

I reached out to Kennedy Fuel Company because my air conditioner stopped functioning at the end of July during a period of extreme heat, including several weeks of triple-digit temperatures. I was informed by a trusted HVAC professional that the compressor was faulty. When I contacted Kennedy Fuel Company, Katey confirmed that the unit was still under warranty and that I would be liable only for labor costs. However, I was not provided an estimate for the labor charges at that time.

The company scheduled a service appointment for roughly ten days later, but no technician showed up, nor was I contacted to reschedule. After my own follow-up, I was informed that they had a sick employee and was rescheduled for another week later. The first visit occurred on August 8,2023—approximately 18 days after my AC broke down.

During the service visit, the technician, installed a new capacitor instead of replacing the compressor, causing the unit to explode in a hazardous manner. The technician then acknowledged the faulty compressor and informed me it would be replaced within 3-5 days. However, it took another 23 days for him to return and properly fix the unit. Furthermore, the job was not completed until September 7, when the TXV valve was replaced.

After nearly a month and a half of distress, the technician presented me with invoices totaling $1850. A detailed breakdown of the bill revealed additional costs for refrigerant, suction filter, filter drier, compressor harness, and a capacitor. These are charges I was neither informed of nor consented to.

When I contacted Brandy from Kennedy Fuel Company to dispute the charges, I was told that the cost was non-negotiable and that failure to pay would result in legal action. This response is unacceptable, considering the unit was under warranty, and the delays and poor service I experienced.

In summary, Kennedy Fuel Company:

Installed a defective AC system that failed within the warranty period.
Took an inordinate amount of time to repair the unit during a heatwave.
Endangered my property and safety by improperly servicing the unit.
Charged an exorbitant and unexpected fee for labor and parts.
Refused to take responsibility or negotiate on the final cost.
I find their behavior and customer service to be appalling and unethical.

We had them service our old electric furnace. We were so happy with the service they provided we just had to give a "shout out" to Cody for doing such an excellent job and our furnace works perfectly.

Kenndey Fuel is very professional and meticulous. The process from start to finish was a wonderful experience.
Happy there are still businesses like Kennedy Fuel that care about their customers. Bravo.

They have maintained my heat pump for years, are always able to schedule timely service, send capable and kind servicemen, and am in the process of a pump repair and addition of a split. I appreciate their fast response and professionalism.

Woke up and realized the air conditioner had stopped working. Couldn’t figure out why called and they were out within a few days of my call. They were able to change out a part that had shorted out in the system, and had it back up and running same day within an hour. Professional.

I have so much to say about this WONDERFUL business you might think I’m on the payroll! I had to get a new heat pump as mine was 30 years old. I had been in touch with 2 other heating/AC companies but once I contacted Kennedy Fuel it was a “done deal “! Their prices were competitive and the employees were superb! They were SO knowledgeable, prompt and the nicest people ever to do business with! I highly recommend Kennedy Fuel for any heating or A/C issues!

Kennedy recently replaced our heat pump and air handler. They were great to work with. We are very pleased with the quality of the work done, the knowledge of the team. I had a Ductless Heating & A/C INSTALLATION - From quote, price, install & clean-up, Kennedy Fuel is TOP NOTCH in quality & professionalism! 10/10 experience!

Kennedy Fuel installed a replacement furnace (in the attic) and two A/C units - one unit brand new to the property. Tommy and Bella's (father- daughter team- third generation to the company) team are a true work force! Their pricing is absolutely reasonable, from which they gave me multiple options to choose from. They pulled the necessary permits, brought in an electrician and filed the rebates for me (also included in pricing). What's more is we had another company install a new furnace (yes, we have two in the house) that was had several install defects including electrical, missing sediment trap, pinhole leak in gas flex line, thermostat wiring incomplete and no permit pulled. Fortunately, the city was not punitive as I'm new to the area, but if Kennedy Fuel didn't fix the problems of other company mistakes, I would have failed inspection, not to mention cost me more $$ to fix what I didn't know needed fixing. I highly recommend them! Very skilled at what they do!

(Why the name Kennedy Fuel? Well, they've been in business since 1926 and used to deliver oil for heat - thus the name Fuel)

Kennedy Fuel is local business going back generations. They did not try to take advantage of me during the bid process. The price was really good for the quality product they have. They got to the house and literally hit the ground running. They were diligent, honest, and kind. I could not have asked for a better team to do this job for me. I thank God for them.

Tom and his crew were excellent. They installed a new Daikin multi zone mini split system in our home in the middle of multiple snow storms! They even took an extra day to make sure the job was done right and the crew didn’t stop working the whole time they were here. When they left our house was spotless and the system is exceeding our expectations. This was a major investment for us and couldn’t be happier.
