Kwang Chow Restaurant reviews
15I frequently go to this restaurant for both food and their lotto room. The food is good and the same goes for the staff. I like the fact that they're a lot of room as a decent size as well.
Terrible! Prawns had no flavor & neither did the fried rice. I had to add my own soy sauce. Waste of 26 dollars.
Fantastic food. Huge portions. Food was still hot at the end of my meal. Best crab puffs in portland
Got our food to go and, as always, it was absolutely delicious. Still my favorite place to go for Chinese food!
I have been eating here for over 30 years and recently I noticed the menu is the same but the food isn't. There is definitely a difference and not necessarily a good one.
The new soy sauce it does not go well with the meal. I would rather have the old soy sauce back or go find a new place to eat
Chinese comfort food. Big portions. Ordered the $15 special plus the HUGE bur tasty egg rolls. Very relaxed atmosphere. Full bar and video poker. Nothing fancy and food is fresh. Enjoy.
Great food, great service! This place always looks like it's closed because you hardly ever see cars in the lot. This place is still struggling to get back up after Covid nearly took them out. BUT the food is great and with not as many customers, you are waited on hand and foot! The people who work there are very nice and helpful in ordering, they don't seem to mind substitutions, and do not charge for them either! There are lots of lovely live plants in this place, booths and tables. Just know that the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired, is small with a very small toilet. The place has been around for a very long time, so it's not some fancy, new fangled restaurant, but if you are looking for good Chinese food this is a good place to go! Ohhh, also, the prices are reasonable and really quite comparable! Try this place out, and ENJOY your meal.
Food was sub-par and kind of tasted like it was only one dish. Chow mein tasted similar to the egg fu yung - those flavours blended into other side dishes and the rice was OK. I've had way better authentic chinese food in Gresham but have been looking for a new place since they closed during covid (Chinese Village).
I love this place. The BEST Chinese-American cuisine in the metro area. They have Egg Foo Yung on the menu (and it is good). Everything is as you would hope for in a Chinese-American place. The egg rolls are perfection!
I've been going there since the early 1980s.
I wouldn't be surprised if my first food wasn't bbq pork.
My mom, my sister, my kids and myself were all treated like family there.
When we did take out orders they didn't even have to ask who it was in the phone.
The food was always good, the service was always great and it was always the place to go for birthdays and special occasions.
I took my mom in for her birthday lunch today to check out the differences between old owners and new owners.
I couldn't be more disappointed.
Yeah.it was sad not seeing a familiar face.
And it sucked that they had no idea who we were.
But the food.
Omg.
It was bad.
The menu isn't the same.
The batter on the shrimp and sweet&sour chicken wasn't even cooked all the way through. You could squeeze it with your fingers and have oil drip from it.
The fried rice was literally only rice and bbq pork. I searched through the whole container for signs of egg.but none was to found.
And to top it off.lol. I got a burnt fortune cookie with no fortune.
This will be our last visit, ending a run of 40+ years.
Service was excellent and the food was a great value. Our food came in a to go box which was super convenient since I wasn’t that hungry and knew I wanted to take it with me.
Love this restaurant. We haven't been here in years but decided to grab some food to go. Still just as good as it's always been
Kind of hidden gem honestly. Pretty standard Americanized Chinese food. That said, its very tasty really large portions and friendly staff. Only visited once so far but we plan on returning soon. Really good Oolong tea as well.
I waited to try this place and I wish I waited longer.
Some how they got my order wrong when all I ordered was a number 6.the crab puffs tasted great, until I bit into one and oil exploded all over my face.
So gross and the pork they gave me that they also messed up in my order was so dry and bland.
