14I’ve now purchased two vehicles from them. They never disappoint. Service team is also amazing.
Upon picking up our Defender from service yesterday to fix issues that their detailing team caused, their assistant service director, Brandon, was very arrogant from the moment we arrived and short with my wife and I. He even told us to leave the dealership and relayed his disappointment with us having left a previous negative review in his name. We’ve had issues from the start with Brandon not taking responsibility for the service department’s mistakes and insinuating we may have caused issues they clearly caused. It’s unprofessional not to owe up to your mistakes. After all the issues we had with service performed to our new car, we’re the ones that have a right to be frustrated having had spent so much time convincing JLR to fix their service mistakes and time lost having our car in for service multiple times, and we just purchased the car from them in July 2023.
Do yourself a favor, don't buy from this dealer and certainly don't buy a Land Rover. When inventory was tight, (pandemic) we had to buy our Rover from Tacoma Land Rover when this dealer could not get inventory. Well, they never let you forget. Car needs service, go to the back of the line. Need a loaner during service, not at this "luxury" dealer. Need warranty work, their scheduling in the shop is so bad, you get. "we need the car for two weeks and we will try and fit you in". Well you know what, F Land Rover, I sold the Defender and purchased a much better Grand Cherokee Summit. It drives better, more luxurious, and they actually take care of their customers. By Land Rover, Never Again.
These guys don't care about their customers and make no effort to combat their poor policies regarding their defective vehicles. I bought my wife a 2022 Land Rover with 9k miles on it. Though I am the second owner it came from this dealer. Her Defender's power steering went out one day after we pick it up for another mechanical.
It is now virtually paperweight in their shop for 2 months. That's not even the reason for this review. The fact that I was told since we are not the ones that directly purchased this from their location then we don't qualify for a loaner vehicle is absurd. I was then offered to call the customer relations department and their answer was to pay for a rental and submit a receipt 2 months or more later ND maybe it would be reimbursed. No process to know if I'd be reimbursed up front. Needless to say unless you have 3 vehicles and don't need this one other than to drive and look pretty I would stay away. In 42 years this is my first bad car review. What does that tell you.
Land Rover of Portland service department are completely incompetent when dealing with diagnosing and completing repairs on Diesel Exhaust issues. Unfortunately due to the Monopoly Land Rover has you can not find a mechanic outside of their service department to work on the newer systems and when challenged the service department team tries to find excuses as to why they didn’t fix the car. I give them zero stars and warn all customers/consumers to never use them as they will steal your money and never fix your vehicle.
Absolutely horrible service. I have the new 2023 Range Rover HSE. It broke down on my Thanksgiving trip, with family and dogs on it. Had to have it towed to Portland LR 110 miles away the day before Thanksgiving. Ruined our vacation where we had to mad scramble our own transportation. Portland LR claimed to fix it. They Transported back to LA where upon arrival the LR Pasadena dealership service test drove it and found it was never fixed. I highly recommend to stay away from the new vehicle. No one seems to know what is wrong with these new models from breaking down. I have been without my car for 30 days and they still don’t know how to fix it as corporate Land Rover service techs are unable to provide proper instructions on how to fix it. Mine is not only car doing it. I think they have a massive recall on their hands that makes these cars lose ability to move altogether. Most expensive car I have owned and the most trouble I have had with a vehicle. Any other RR owners out there beware. I still don’t have my car and no time table as to when I get it.
David Johnson has been wonderful to work with. We have purchased 3 cars through him and he has made each experience a positive one. He listens to our needs and always answers all of our questions. We highly recommend asking for David if you are interested in a Range Rover!
JLR in PDX is a fantastic dealership. The best all time path to purchase journey. Highly recommend Damon Wright as your product guide as well as Brandon Maggs who is the service guru.
The Defender 110 is the bomb!
We were excited to pick up the car we had been dreaming about only to be let down by the dealership and their mistake-prone and lying service department. They are extremely unprofessional and deflect blame on their clients rather than take responsibility for their own mistakes.
Amazing experience purchasing from Jaguar Land Rover Portland - Damon Wright couldn't have done anything better as a salesman.
The service department is a joke. They had my range rover 30 days and could not figure out what was wrong. When they told me it was done. It still has warning lights. I would not recommend range rover. I took it straight over ford and exchanged it for a bronco. So I never have to deal with this service department again. So done.

We have had several horrible experiences here. One problem is they are the only Land Rover dealership within 4 hours of us. But we are seriously considering driving to Spokane or Tacoma. The people are never friendly and it seems like you are always a bother.
Before you spend an obscene amount on these ask the service department about scheduling an oil change or other service, they are 2 MONTHS out, that is so ridiculous, Land Rover corporation should take notice that u you out can’t get these vehicles fixed in a timely manner, like getting a doctor appointment
Ordering my 24 Defender 110 was such a great experience. From the time we first spoke with Sal months prior, to delivery, we were listened to, and made to feel like we were valued. The building and delivery was seamless, with no surprises! It even came in a few weeks before the initial expected date.
I’ve had my Defender for a week today, and it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned… even better than my 14 LR4! I completely recommend Land Rover Portland and Sal for your Rover needs!
