Landfill Rescue Unit Records reviews
14My new favorite store. It stocks a lot of the kind of stuff I'm after and has loads of stuff I had no idea existed. Perfect. I kick myself really hard in the shin whenever I think of how long I waited to check this place out.
I like the theme and decor of this particular record store, and it's a pretty cool little place. However, I wish it were organized better, and as a vertically challenged person it was rather difficult for me to search through the metal records in the tall dumpster. They do have some cool finds and deals, though.
Great selection and aesthetics. The records were all well organized, and if you know what you're looking for it is easy to find. Prices seemed pretty average, but we're well researched from what I could tell.
The owner was very quiet but wasn't unfriendly.
Lots of records in a small space, but I still found the selection to feel limited. It's great if you're into grunge and experimental electronic music, that's clearly the focus. Couldn't really find what I was looking for though.
I've been here probably 5 times over the last couple years. Always find something I like and if you can't find something I'd be shocked and/or maybe you're the type that likes to play Taylor Swift on your Crosley or something. Prices are reasonable and the selection vast despite the small foot print. For people complaining about the staff, not sure why you're going in to look for friends rather than records. Everyone has been nice to me at least and hell, I even bought a Bob Seger and Robert Palmer album and no one even scoffed so passed that litmus test.
Highly recommend Landfill! They have tons of great stuff. I especially appreciate the plentiful metal and punk sections but they have plenty of other genres too and everything is well organized.
Very good selection of records. Guy working behind the counter was rude as hell. I'll head elsewhere next time
I just bought 7 records and it was only $80.
This is the gem of record shops.
The main dude is a mensch. Extremely fair.
He could sell some of those rare records for hundreds and instead relies of fair margins by being a smart buyer.
I go to record shops frequently and they are doing something special here.
Its a shop for locals.
Love this place.
Awesome record shop has alot of cool records and the owner is very friendly. I definitely recommend checking LRU records out!
Overpriced and overrated. Their nm rating is worse than a lot of vg elsewhere, and price isn’t negotiable. Don’t waste your money here, go somewhere else.
I've been here twice and on each occasion I chanced to find an album that I'd been chasing for a nearly a decade. I left feeling stoked both times. Here's to many more! Cheers!
Just visited 10/22. This continues to be one of the best selections for unusual and avant garde music in Portland. They also have a ton of regular music in all genres. Nice selection, staff is very friendly and helpful One of my favorite stops when I visit PDX
Great selection of records, horrible selection of employees. I was ready to spend $150+ on vinyl from this shop until the two employees on site started joking and laughing about being cruel to animals. Definitely won’t be back.
This place appears to have a finely curated selection that appeals to discerning music fans like myself, it's a perfect example of quality over quantity.
