Lisa Forkish

After hearing that my elderly friend wouldn't even sing "Happy Birthday" because as a child he was told his voice was terrible (!), I brought him to Lisa, in hopes that he could find the courage to sing. Lisa was wonderful! She encouraged and engaged him with her complete presence. He opened his mouth and made a sound! She beamed and he laughed! They engaged in sound play and he said he felt as free as a youth! He started singing! I had tears in my eyes watching this beautiful dance of Joy. Thank you Lisa!

I found that Lisa offers the wonderful gift of being present, listening well, and encouraging joyful vocal participation. She works in an embodied way and guides without judging or criticizing. She knows A LOT about music and music theory while simultaneously being able to sink into the aesthetic experience, the direct feeling, of music and music making. She makes musicianship accessible for beginners and has a wonderful depth of knowledge and experience. Thank you, Lisa!
