I just wanted to thank Dr. Stuie (and the rest of the team) for seeing Roland and I quickly, being understanding and flexible about his treatment plan and costs, and for giving plenty of time to ask questions and the like. He's happy to be home, but I think we both expected it to be a more difficult visit, and you all made it as pleasant as can be.

As an aside to be fair to both the office and some of the negative reviews: I should point out that the initial treatment plan suggested a few other pieces of treatment (other medications, a shot my cat is behind on, and a preventative option) that I took to be the optimal plan for treatment. I asked about what was truly necessary as a first step, what could be put off, etc, and the Dr.took a lot of time to explain the reasons behind each medication and the positives and negatives of waiting on each. We decided on a step by step plan that felt both within my means at the time and with clear markers on when to decide if more needed to be done. I didn't feel pressured into getting more done and wasn't made to feel negligent for going about treatment in this manner.

Warning: if you are lower income and have sick pets, DO NOT GO HERE. Kristen, the vet tech, will say the patients best interest is in mind as well as what is most “economical”, but that is not the case. Their original pricing sounds pretty affordable but they will attempt to upswell you on EVERYTHING and will proceed to not inform you of all the options unless questioned. We paid over $330 due to needing dewormer (as our cats actively had tapeworms) and because they were not patients at this clinic- requiring initial exams as well. They were able to get us in the same day which we were VERY appreciative of, however we waited an hour and a half AFTER our appointment was scheduled to begin to even speak to the vet tech. The receptionist, Alisson, had to do the entire intake (usually done by Kristen) as they were still in a surgery. They ended up being in said surgery for our entire appointment meaning we got about 10 minutes in total of discussion time between both the vet and the vet tech. After paying over $330 for this appointment, we were sent home with the pill form of dewormer to administer ourselves. After unsuccessfully trying to administer the medication for two days, we called asking what our options were as they were still sick and we were quoted an additional $107 to bring them back in for an injectable form of the dewormer. When asked what solutions we would be provided with (as this was an extreme financial strain for us), we were told we were already extremely accommodated due to them dispensing the original order under one cat instead of two and because they could get us in on the same day… therefor they were not willing to further accommodate our situation. When I had this conversation with Kristen, she ensured to inform me several times of how they chose this plan as this was the most “economical” for the patient regardless of the fact they neglected to inform us of ALL our options. In my opinion, the most economical would be ensuring the patient is informed of ALL options for their sick animal. Sounds as though it was what was easiest and most economical for them. Had they truly had the best interest of the patient in mind, they would be more concerned with doing what they can to help, rather than earning more money. After Kristen and I’s 20 minute phone call, we were told they would not see them anymore and would send the medical records to whichever animal clinic we would like as she just didn’t think it was a good fit for their clinic any longer. So not only did we waste $330, but our kitties are still sick. Everyone here SEEMS very kind and accommodating, but it seems that the only real kind person there, is Alisson. I’ve spoke to several people including someone who’s worked at a vet clinic over 20 years who agreed the way this was handled was ridiculous. Thanks for your efforts Lombard Animal Hospital.

Came for our first visit recently after our old vet closed. The lobby is sparkling clean and the front desk helped us check in the moment we were in the door. Despite being told things were running behind that mornjng, I waited less than 10 minutes to get into a room with my cat.

The tech was very kind and gentle with my cat and really listened to everything I had to share about his history. They had his old records already but wanted to hear my perspective as pet owner too, which I really appreciated.

They were quick and efficient getting his vitals and latest shots. The vet gave a lot of good information and options for the issue we came in to address and I walked out feeling confident and understanding completely.

While I hope we don't need to visit again soon, I'm happy to have chosen this vet!
