Mai's Asian Market reviews
16I absolutely love this shop! I always find what I'm looking for, and they have an excellent selection. I love that they also have bowls for my ramen collection.
I am an activity coordinator for adults with disabilities who travels all over Western Oregon. I must say, the owner of this store and their family, are the nicest people we encounter in any store, in any town, in ALL of Oregon. They treat us as if we are part of their family, and are always very kind. Great products, cool store, and of course the service and experience is outstanding.
A delightful and friendly store packed with a huge variety of Asian products. Mai helped me find the ingredients I needed, even though I probably hadn't gotten the names quite right. We're so fortunate to have this store in Newport!
I can't say enough good things about this store. My cashier was SP FRIENDLY AND NICE. My friend and I went in and she gave us some things to try while we shopped and looked around. When we checked out she noticed I was making fresh rolls and went and picked some fresh mint from her garden for me! I will drive the hour and a half it takes me to get there just to shop there instead of an Asian market closer. Mai's even carries Chinese herbal medicines.
Amazing food selection mostly Asian but they also carry other ethnic foods. Good prices and Amazing Service. Even if you have never been to an Asian market this is worth a visit. Mai will have you wanting to try new things and keep coming back.
I don't go to Newport that often, but I'm pretty sure this shop is the best thing there.
Really good value on some interesting food, and there's other things like soap and ceramics. I didn't feel like I was paying the tourist tax like with the shops closer to the waterfront.
I was in yesterday and it was the best customer experience I ever had.
I walked in feeling good. I walked out feeling great. Thank you
Such a sweet place! My friend and so stopped in during a backpacking trip and Mai was so kind and supportive of us! She is very knowledgeable about herbal medicine and her store has a wide selection of coffee/tea, food, snacks and other treats. Highly recommend!
Awesome selection with good prices - they carry natto so I am beyond happy. Incredible service as well, very welcoming!
One of the nicest Asian markets I have shopped at. Wonderful service, well-stocked and a super fun store. They are extremely friendly and helpful.
Lovely family owned business. Ingredients that are hard to find, plenty of snacks, and delicious sauces. Mai’s knowledge in Chinese medicine is invaluable and she is so kind and eager to share. My family has been going here for years, always a joy!
We stopped in to Mai’s Asian market. Fun, enjoyable market to shop at. Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful clerk. Lots of new things to try.
The owner, Mai, is very friendly and knowledgeable. There's a variety of foods, sauces, seasonings, supplements, and even gift items. Very fun to shop here! I love this store!
Mai (pronounced like my goodness my) is amazing. She has so many useful items and always gives candy to her customers. The Mochi sold here is amazing.
Mai is so sweet. Such a great selection of food! The prices are great and she even had the incense I love! I highly recommend Mai's and I will be back!
Mai is the gracious soul of this business. I am lost for words to describe the heartwarming interaction we had with her. I'd definitely recommend coming here to get asian and international foods you can't find anywhere else in the region.
Thank you Mai for giving such a warm welcome to the Oregon coast!
