Marys Peak True Value reviews
11I found all the screws and nuts I was looking for. Down one star because I had to sort through the bulk bins to get what I needed. Every bin I got parts from had incorrect parts mixed in as well.
Very rude employees, and none of them seem to be able to answer simple questions. Just had 8 keys made and none of them even fit in in the slots to unlock my trailer. Took them all back to get my money back and they rolled their eyes and gave me really bad attitude. Wanted me to wait for them to make more keys (yea like I wanted to wait another 45 minutes for keys to be cut, and the whole time I’m being treated and followed around like I’m robbing the store.) the employees here need retraining in customer service. If you make something for the customer and your product does not work, you give the customer their money back, you do not argue with them because by taking the keys back it’s a loss for the store. Well if you don’t take them back it’s a loss for the customer who bought your faulty, over charged, second rate products. (Hint by the way take the product back and mark it defective and the store will get credit from the manufacture for the defective product) I’ve worked and managed a large retail store for almost 20 years I know how it works. I would also fire employees for the way this stores employees treated us.
Terrible employees and high prices. Specifically an older male and female have the annoying habit of aggressively asking "what do you need". That would be fine, but it's not in a friendly way and then they often stare at you like your going to steal something. If I need help finding something than I would have asked when I came in the front door. The prices are not competitive, it's often worth going to Corvallis for even small items.
Their prices are typically 50% more than Home Depot in Corvallis. Some of the staff are knowledgeable in construction, it’s hit and miss. We live just west of Philomath and like to go to True Value for small projects. If it’s more extensive construction/ property work, we will make the trek to Corvallis. One reason for the low rating is the lady they normally have greeting customers and working the front register is as surly as they come. Not sure if she’s related to the owners or what the deal is but it’s clear she’s not cut out for customer service. It’s a shame they choose to employ her she deters us from going there regularly. We feel conflicted. It’s good to support local businesses but not when you’re getting reamed and bad service to boot.
Consistent and persistent about letting you know when "it's quittin' time". Came in a little before 5 without realizing when they closed. But the young guy at the counter was nice about it, and I was in and out in less than 5 mins. Cranky older guy following me around the entire time
Been rebuilding a trailer in coming to this place fairly often for parts every time I'm there this older gentleman seems to be always upset or have an attitude I try to be kind and polite and upbeat but this man seems to hate his job or his life I'm not too sure but unfortunately because of him I will not be coming back to this true value poor customer service makes for a poor company
If you can't find what you need at other stores. Come to Mary's peak True Value. They will find and order it for you at no extra charge.
I received excellent help in determining what parts I needed for my home plumbing project. I did not need to return for additional parts or advice. Employee "Chris" was the person who helped me.
I love this store! They rarely don't have the item I need, and often surprise me with what I didn't expect them to have, but on the off chance ask for it anyway.
They also have a selection of household staple items (paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, t.p, etc) which saves the trek into Corvallis for those essentials that run out at the most inconvenient times.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The selection can be slim for certain items but that can be expected since it's a small hardware store.
This is simply the best collection of hardware under one roof in the region. Great help, too. I'm impressed.
